This is a pouch containing four 18 gram individual pouches of kimchi salad seasoning powder, from Yorit. It arrived fresh and factory sealed. I love kimchi, but I don't have the patience or skill to make it myself. This is a way to make a homemade kimchi-inspired salad, using 300 grams of veggies that you have on hand and one of these pouches. The blend includes spicy seasonings as well as some seafood powders, to give your salad a kimchi-like flavor profile. I tried it with a cole slaw mix (green cabbage, red cabbage, carrots) that I happened to have on hand. I poured the seasoning blend in with the cole slaw mix and massaged it in (be sure to wear gloves for this!). It was delicious and spicy and tangy right away, but letting it meld in the fridge for a while made it even better. I may try also making a soy and rice vinegar dressing next time, and make a Korean inspired but more traditional style cole slaw. At the time I'm writing this, the set of four pouches is priced at $20.00 or $5.00 per pouch, which seems a little high for just over 2.5 ounces of product, but there are a lot of ingredients so it's possible the price is warranted.

I wish it was spicier but I like it all the same.

I was expecting to turn my veggies like cucumber or Napa cabbage into kimchi similar flavor but even with a touch of fish sauce it didn't taste anything like kimchi.. its a strange taste, not salty like kimchi or not that sweet like friendly tasted kimchi. I opened one pouch and can't return this.

I've used this in so many different preparations! It's a pretty authentic flavor and it's especially great on noodles, topokki, or cabbage. Great bang for my buck for sure.

These packets remind me of giant instant ramen seasoning packets and smell like them too. I sprinkled it on top of a salad mix and started to regret it due to how salty it is and it was not close enough to kimchi flavor. If I had to guess, it's likely not as healthy as fermented kimchi either.

I was surprised by how much I loved these. THere are so many ingredients in this it would take forever for you to make it on your own. These little packets are so convenient. I make pickled cucumber salad. First I salt the cucumbers heavily and leave them sitting for about 30 minutes to draw out water. I dump the water that gathered, add this packet and a bit of sugar, and then let marinate overnight. Result is DELICIOUS. I normally don't eat vegetables but this is an exception!

These packs are really convenient for making any vegetable taste great. I personally like cucumbers because they taste great and are easy to prepare. When I have too many cucumbers in hand I like to use a packet of these and mix them together. They provide a nice kimchi taste to the cucumbers. This is really easy to use and is convenient for anyone looking for tasty veggies.
