Extremely powerful
I was disappointed when I noted on the box that is was munafacrued in China. The Waring website stated "Made in America". Putting that aside, the unit is very powerful, easy adjustments and very well built. I have benn using it for a few months and have no regrets. I have cooked with a cast iron skillet and dutch oven without issue. The pans heat up quickly and evenly over the magnet. Clean up is quick and easy. I placed the unit on my gas stove (2 burners) so that it is under the vented hood. I highly recommend the Waring and would purchase again.

The lowest-end temperature of this cooktop feels slightly too elevated
This was a Christmas gift to my wife, who was initially hesitant to use it but the cooktop now has become a favorite. We have both noticed that the lowest power setting (1) is slightly too high for mere warming. We have also noticed that all induction-ready pans do not perform equally on the cooktop...pans containing enamel or non-ferrous cladding heat up more slowly than a pure cast-iron pan, for example. The quality of the B model cooktop is very good, the pricing is reasonable, the power fan is rather quiet. This cooktop is very close to the one which is truly a commercial-kitchen quality, but the pricing/performance of a commercial induction cooktop is ridiculously high for the average home culinarian.

Great tabletop induction burner for a commercial kitchen!
We use this little guy as a primary burner in our small cafe and it kicks arse!It shines with a 12" Great Jones skillet, 6 qt sauce pan, but struggles with the extra large 12 qt stock pots.Responds quickly to temp adjustments and is super easy to clean.Top is glass so we have lost one to a dropsie, but knowing that we handle it like glass and so far its only suffered a chip.I will be buying another as a backup as ours ages, but overall 5 star on operation and durability.

LARGE 8.5 INCH HEATING AREA
Wow, best induction cooker I have used and I have had 3 others. Very large heating area, 8.5 inches. The fan is not whisper quiet but I didn't expect it to be, it keeps the unit cool when cooking. So far I have to say I am very happy with this purchase. Best of all 8.5 inch heating area.

So far I am quite happy with this stove
So far I am quite happy with this stove. We have been using it daily for about 1 month so far. It heats quickly, is fairly quiet, and meets all expectations for the price range. It would be nice to have a temperature between 180 and 210 to better simmer food, and the power drops a bit occasionally in waves, but I think that this is a consequence of our limited electrical system and not the stove at all. Time will tell. So far we are very, very happy with it.

Louder and worse than the an older unit.
This is my second Waring induction hob and this one seems significantly louder than the first. Also, the temp setting is complete BS. You can put it on 180 and measure a surface temp approaching 300 before it starts to settle down. (I get how it works, but you'll ruin food using the temp mode without careful attention, and that defeats purpose. Right?) Maybe the thermocouple is not installed correctly. On the whole a product should improve over ten years instead of getting worse. I really do not like it.

Good heat and coverage, poor thermal exhaust
This induction cooker a more even heat distribution than personal use cooktops including a larger radius of the induction coils. However, the thermal exhaust system doesn't appear to be the most robust. Within a few months of use the plastic grating over the exhaust port began to warp due to excessive heat.

Great for the price.
The tile that I selected was mislabeled as a larger unit, but when I checked my order receipt it clearly stated the correct unit. I have the WIH200. The heating coil is very small. It works well for small pans. Any Pam with a base with a diameter larger than 6” will have a hot spot. For the price it’s a good entry into induction cookers.
