Great crushed corals an beautiful shells. I would wash them a few times with water before putting them in a aquarium

Sets up PH quickly but requires A LOT of rinsing
The first few rinses of this substrate looked like chai tea. I rinsed each bucket full AT LEAST ten times, but it still didn't rinse clean. I finally put it in the tank and set up my canister filters with very fine cotton-wool type filters and let it run several days prior to re-cleaning the canisters. There is STILL leftover residue, but I assume it will settle down over time. I suppose if I was a tweaker, I could scrub every chip of crushed coral, but I'm not so I won't.

The bad reviews are BS
The media could not be loaded. Rinse thoroughly like you should do with anything you put in your tank and you will have no issues. Yes there is debris in it but it's a natural material so that's expected. RINSE THOROUGHLY! No issues and my cichlids love it!

Crushed coral
Looks so beautiful. My cichlids love the crushed coral. My cichlids dig like crazy and it doesnt seem like the crushed coral is to sharp. Would recommend to stabilize ph and quality of water. Would buy again.

The media could not be loaded. Came on time. Rinsing seemed to take forever to get the dust off, but otherwise will definitely buy again when needed.

raises ph
Awesome product if your looking to raise your ph for african cichlids. I was always told crushed coral would only stabilize ph but i tested 2 tanks 1 with sand 1 with crushed coral tank 1 ph was 7.6 tank 2 was 8.0 which is exactly what i wanted. will need a little rinsing but that is to be expected with pretty much and substrate.

Great product for cichlids
Great product for cichlid tanks. I highly recommend this for any cichlid keeper. Fifth star lacking because the substrate has a really high volume of dust that is impossible to rinse out. Had to wait several days and make a couple water changes to get the water cloudiness under control. Also, it looked like some twigs were included in the crushing process of the coral. I have to constantly get these pieces out of the tanks. These two issues don't effect the performance of the substrate, just an annoyance.
