Q: I saw the photo but im still alittle confused is this similar to a sand or a dirt substrate

It’s all sand. It’s actually real sand, has a nice texture and even has tiny rocks mixed in. My beardie loves it and never became impacted or anything like that. I think it looks great inside the enclosures as well giving a very natural look.
