Bought this as a gift but the lava is full of air bubbles and the lava doesn’t float right. Turned it off to cool to see if it would self correct and when I turned it back on, it’s still full of bubbles. Instead of nice round bubbles that bounce into and past each other, I get a long line or blob of lava that just hangs there. I have other lava lamps that have nice lava and this one is definitely not in the same category. Pass on this one and try a different one. This one’s a big miss!

The base is heavy and full of Himalayan rocks of salt. The top is beautiful. The whole thing looks kind of like a rocketship. You can even listen to music, as it has a bluetooth!!

I've long been a fan of lava lamps, so when the opportunity to review this one came up, I was intrigued.First off, the lava lamp component works as expected*. The lamp come with a choice of two bulbs - one has higher wattage than the other, to provide enough heat for the lamp to operate in rooms at around 70° F. The other bulb is suggested for use in rooms where the temperature is hotter. Either way, from a cold start it will take some time for the 'lava' to melt and start circulating.*However, while the lava formed into entertaining blobs the first time I turned it on, it's pretty much just sitting there tonight. I'll have to see if that persists.UPDATE: After several days, the lava lamp part of the lamp is not working. The lava wax melts, but it just sits at the bottom of the tube as a blob. There's no circulation. I don't know why it's not working but it really makes the lamp pointless if it doesn't work. I've tried swapping bulbs, but that doesn't seem to help.There's plenty of light from below to illuminate the lava - and the base which takes things to the next level. The lava lamp sits on top of a base filled with salt crystals wrapped around the lamp bulb enclosure and some electronics that A) can illuminate the base with changing colors, B) connect with Bluetooth to play music or other audio, C) play a variety of white noise effects, and D) control the sound volume. The bluetooth connection to my phone worked just fine.The whole package is intended to provide sensory enjoyment, between the light and sound effects. As to the claim that the salt crystals have an air-purifying effect for better health, let me just say I have yet to be persuaded. The light shining through the crystals is nice to look at, at the very least.Some caveats. There's a sticker warning to keep the lamp out of the reach of children. It's a bit top heavy and can be easily knocked over. (It probably shouldn't be placed where cats can knock it over either.) When the lamp has been on for a while, the lava lamp part can get too warm to pick up. The salt crystals in the base are loose and there's no cover over them. They will spill if the lamp is knocked over.

The media could not be loaded. I bought this lava lamp because it was unique looking ever seen anything like it, Bluetooth speaker part is not the best. It’s just OK. but it’s different I would probably never use the speaker part but hey, this lava lamp is cool looking, its hard to see the LED light up the Himalayan Rocks when lava light is on lava light needs to be turned off to see the feature of the rocks light up but anyway, instead of the rocks, I replaced them with marbles much better looking to see the light

Work's great for about 10 minutes then balls up at the bottom got a buld that wasn't as hot and still same thing

This is a great idea and I am here for it! First, I have always loved lava lamps and this one with its great big red blob does not disappoint once it heats up. Secondly, there is a blue tooth so you can also listen to your own music or play the included white noise. Lastly, I love that salt rocks have been incorporated into this lamp, so you can replace your lamp, music device and salt rock with this 3 in one device. I would say this is best for older kids and adults who would like this, like me! Be careful though because the rocks are loose and the glass lamp gets hot, so keep it away from smaller hands!

The bad: The lava will work for 10 minutes like normal after heating it up but then just sits in a blob on the bottom for the next week. Trying the other bulbs and even putting a fan on it did not help. It's in a 72F climate controlled room. Multiple attempts - all fails - and I've owned multiple lava lamps.The neutral: I didn't notice the resemblance other reviewers mentioned in the ad but upon receiving it, it's definitely got a phallic shaped aura.The one reviewer that mentions its shadow being (sus)picious is downright hilarious.The bluetooth speaker is functional - but even smaller handheld shower speakers sound better than this by a lot now.If you're into Himalayan salt and phallic shaped low-fi speaker lava lamps that don't work very well I'd say 5 stars.For everyone else this would make an incredible white elephant or gag gift so I'll add a star back for that.
