I taped them to a color card stock and they look perfect. I gave it a 4 stars because I ...
True to the colors shown in the pictures.. I got these's for a bridal shower game. They are not as strong as regular card stock..Its in between regular paper and card stock. I taped them to a color card stock and they look perfect.I gave it a 4 stars because I was expecting it to be like card stock. They were shipped very nicely and very quick.

Decent product
I like my recipe cards. They could be thicker, because they are super thin, but they were a decent price, they are thick enough that you can't see ballpoint pen ink from the back side showing through (definitely can see sharpie and other markers) and there was a nice number of them in the packet.I do wish they were wider ruled, but thats a relatively minor nitpick of mine.I guess if I run out, I might order these again, but its important to note that if you think these sre made of normal 3x5 or 4x6 note card stock, they are absolutely NOT. These are much more flimsy, but they get the job done and the different colors makes it a snap tp find a certain recipe from above when you browse the recipe box, if you have them sorted by color. A whole rainbow of colors would be awesome to be able to have because then theres a different color for breads, casseroles, spups, salads, meats, appetizers, beverages and desserts. My packet of cards was shipped fast, undamaged and packaged well.

Flimsy "Index Cards"
My original intent was to purchase 4x6 inch double sided recipe cards for my DIY essential oil products. The best recipe cards I found on Amazon that were not too expensive, decently attractiven and of good quality, were about $9-$13 for a set of about 50. I was having some trouble choosing between a few different designs, but before I made a decision, I found this product for a only a few bucks. This pack of color coded, ruled index cards by Oxford caught my eye for a few reasons:It cost less than $4 for 100 cards. That's obviously a better deal than $12 for 50.It also consists of 5 different primary colors: blue, red, green, orange and yellow. I can use each color to write recipes according to the different type of product.I like that the whole index card isn't saturated with color, but is instead bright white with a colorful header and lines. It makes it very easy to read the words, which is the most important factor. I read some reviews where people were complaining about the darkness of the colored index cards they chose to purchase. Not surprisingly, the photo posted on amazon for their cards was slightly misleading. So this seemed like the best of ALL worlds: Different colors and lines to differentiate, bright white cards, larger quantity for less. It seemed like a win-win situation.I knew I'd be sacrificing a couple things. There are no pretty designs, and the cards are 3" x 5" instead of the typical 4" x 6". But I knew it wasn't a big deal, as long as these cards could fit into a 4" x 6" plastic sleeve without swimming around in too large a space. They sell individual sleeves to protect the paper. Then they can be kept in a little box.I figure it's easiest to have a large binder with plastic protector sheets in it. The sheets meant for recipe cards seem to only have 1 or 2 pockets on each page. However, I discovered plastic protector sheets for something else. I think it was baseball cards or something similar in nature. Anyway, they're able to hold 4 recipe cards per page, and they would face the right side, so you'd use the binder horizontally. It's all about making it work according to the measurements and your preferences.I received this pack of index cards pretty quickly, being a Prime member. But... they're definitely worth the small price I paid for them. There isn't anything super negative to say, except that these don't have the weight of average index cards. They're extremely thin and floppy, and stiffer than a piece of looseleaf paper, but not by a ton. I'd expected these cards to be at least of normal thickness and weight. But I should've known better. Hopefully, the plastic sleeves will help keep the cards in decent shape. If you're looking for recipe or index cards for kids, essential oils, food, or for frequent use, these are probably not ideal for you. They're not water resistant, they're fairly floppy, they bend easily, they're single sided, and smaller than the ideal 4" x 6" size.If you're not too picky, and looking to save money, then I would recommend these. They'll probably work fine for simple uses. For me, it may prove to be a bit trickier than I'd anticipated. These index cards feel like they're almost half the thickness of regular index cards, and that's my main issue with them. They just aren't durable at all. I just picked up the first index card, held it between my fingers, and looked at the front and back for about 5 seconds, and 2 small dents are now visible in the flimsy paper. Wow. It's even cheaper than I realized when I first began writing this review. I do really like the idea behind the color coding though, so that's a shame. I haven't yet seen any recipe or index cards on Amazon with the same color and design theme. I'll have to keep searching.

Scientifically Proven Results---Finally!
These cards are invaluable. As a kid, we purchased general index cards to make flash cards. They are lined, which makes them perfect for customizing your flash cards. Many years later (I won't specify how many), these cards showed up when I began searching for flash cards. These are colorful, making studying much easy if you can associate colors with words and their terms. It's been scientifically proven that our brains retain information when we associate specific facts attached to colors. As a college student, I am using these to get me through a very difficult Introduction to Humanities II class that I have absolutely no interest in. With the technology of today, you purchase digital flash cards. Call me old fashioned, but that's NOT going to work for me. These do; add a little but of desire to win this class over, and I'm remembering not only definitions to words, but specific points to their origins and 'little known facts'.To sum it up, these cards will always be used in my family. They are effective, useful and even better with the colors added. This was a very smart move made by the manufacturer. Now, my kids are using the same cards and it's working like a charm!
