The media could not be loaded. As a long-time Petkit fan, I’ve owned almost every generation of their products—from their 1st gen feeder and water fountains to two Puraxes and a 1st gen Pura Max. So, when I saw the latest AI-powered Purabot, I was immediately intrigued, especially by its AI features. I decided to give it a try, and after a week of using, I’m ready to share my thoughts.The box was impressively large, and the packaging was super secure—no complaints there. Inside, the device was neatly arranged with minimal parts. The camera arm came separately and needed to be screwed onto the main unit (screws were included). The instructions were clear, and setup was a breeze. Connecting to Wi-Fi and adding the Purabot to the Petkit app was straightforward, and the device’s voice guide (with a very BBC-like female voice, lol) made the process even smoother.One of the first things I noticed was how well the odor eliminator works. Combined with the sealed litter tray and compartment, it virtually eliminates all litter odor—though I should note I use tofu litter, which is already low-odor. The magnetic lid on the back trunk is a nice touch too, adding to the overall sleek and functional design.I waited a week to write this review because I wanted to see how my two picky cats would react. Both of them have a habit of peeing near the litter box instead of inside it sometimes, so I was curious. To my surprise, there were zero accidents during the week. They started using the Purabot almost immediately after installation, which was a huge win in my book.The AI facial recognition feature was something I was initially skeptical about. To set it up, I uploaded several clear headshots and body shots of my cats. Surprisingly, it works really well! The app provides highlights of my cats doing their business, as well as the full, unedited version (which is kind of hilarious—I wonder what they’d say if they could talk!). However, I did notice that the facial recognition only works when my cats are actually using the litter box, not when they are just passing by (which serves its purpose).Another standout feature is the Waste Covering function. Before the cleaning cycle starts, it evenly covers the waste, which helps keep the inside walls of the cylinder clean. It’s a small detail, but it makes a big difference in maintenance.When the litter tray was full, the app notified me, and the device automatically sealed the dirty litter bag as the ring raised up. Removing the bag was easy, and once the ring lowered, a new bag was blown open and expanded to fit the tray. The whole process was seamless, and the BBC-like voice guided me through each step. It’s such a smart and satisfying system!There are still a few features I haven’t fully tried yet, so I’ll provide an updated review later. But after a week of use, I’m thoroughly impressed. The Purabot is by far the most advanced and intelligent litter box I’ve ever owned. It’s packed with thoughtful features that make life easier for both me and my cats.

It's definitely worth the investment if you want a clean, odor-free home and a happy, healthy cat!

The first box I received was defective, which did not remove waste from the litter. Shout out to Amazon customer service for making the return process as simple as possible. UPS picked up the defective box from my home at no charge to me (fortunately I'd hung onto the original packaging), and I received credit for the full amount. Petkit customer service on the other hand was not at all helpful. It took a week and three videos of the defective box to get escalated to the next support team, which never responded to me and closed out my ticket after another week (this is the reason for the loss of a star).The new box is working great. Compared to the older Pura X box I have, I appreciate the large waste bin capacity, zero odor, and that the waste bin full notification works correctly - no overflow unlike the Pura X if you wait for the notification before emptying. Operating cost will be higher due to the need to purchase waste bag refill rings, but it's worth it given the improvements. Also, my cats prefer the new box over the old one as I have both setup near each other and the new one gets more use.

After a few weeks of usage I can at least say for now that this unit is amazing. I have owned many auto litter bots and this is far superior in every way. There is NO work involved here. The dirty litter bin is very large. Great for multiple cats. The way it closes after every cleaning keeps the smell down and I love how I never have to change the bagging system. It seals the litter bag when dirty and you remove the old one and it auto sets the new one. Amazing. The camera works great. Records everything very well. I got this bc I have a cat in kidney failure and I need to know his habits. Has been very useful for that. The unit itself is actually very compact considering the large size of the toileting area. I’ve had full service units before and usually they are just bulky awful sized units. Not so with this one. And I love that the litter capture is in the back of the unit. I feel like this unit sets the new standard for what auto litter boxes should be. This was actually worth every dime. I’m actually considering buying another one.
