Cheap, but easy to sharpen in the field
I love a high $$$ knife, but inevitably find myself leaving them in the field or by other means losing them. This knife, when well honed will equal the skinning capability of much more expensive ones. Should you carry this afield, carry a Worksharp or field sharpener of your choice.. yes you will have to do it quite a bit more frequently, but when properly sharpened it can rival the performance of knives 5-10x it's price.

what's so handy about this knife is you can cut on a plate, with the curved blade. not the best for your edge but works well for me. It also sharpens very well, but this is a "meat" knife so a serrated edge is used for bread, fruit or anything with tough skin. This is a slicer, I have a few of this brand (bread knife and others and I think its one of the best for the money and very sturdy and well built.

Very sharp
Used for skinny a pig. It is extremely sharp and works very well. Held being sharp through 2 pigs so far and have had to resharpen it yet.

Good knife came a little dull
The knife came a little dull but it sharpened up fine using it to fillet. Fish works perfect. Nice little knife!

Keeps the edge!!
Third Dexter Russel knife I’ve ordered for the man. The first one was the exact same blade with the wooden handle. It’s awesome but the wood worries me as far as sanitation and it seems to be decaying where the blade meets the wood. This plastic handle version is the way to go. Also ordered the 7” thin blade for more detailed filleting. This does the job on the chunky slabs. These blades do rust, if left neglected. We make sure to wash and dry right away and have no trouble. When the first one rusted we used vinegar and steel wool to clean off the rust and it worked. Learned to take better care of it. KEEPS AN EDGE like NO OTHER!! Will continue to buy!

Unparalleled quality at the best value in the market
I am a knife nut—a snob even. I must tell you, I love Dexter knives! Great quality, good price, superb performance! Love this knife. I have very high quality Japanese carbon steel knives and these knives match them every step of the way. Wholeheartedly recommend them. I’m never spending exorbitantly for other knives ever again.
