Works well and adapted for metal bed frame
This product is slightly on the expensive side but we like that it is the perfect length for a twin bed. Another reason we chose this product is because it can be easily folded down, allowing me to climb on the bed with him for his bedtime story. The installation was simple, though the instructions seemed to show an extra part... possibly for an extra long version? Anyways, it was easy to figure out.We installed this on a metal frame bed. It was tricky getting it to stay in place, but we used command picture frame hangers (the velcro-like ones) and it worked like a charm! I think it would work best on a wooden slate bed that can be drilled into, but our hack has worked so far without any problems. There is a rope structure that you can strap to the other side of the bed and that alone would not be enough to keep the product in place. Our bed is a twin so we had a lot of leftover rope but this means this product can also be used on a queen bed.Overall, this product does what it’s supposed to and folds down easily. The metal bars are padded and feel strong. I’m not sure what would happen if my son directly fell on top of it, but I don’t think there would be a problem. The only downside is that the folded down part is raised from the actual mattress bottom so making the bed can get a little tricky since you have to tuck it into the side but it’s a minor problem. I would rather have a hard time making the bed than to risk having this fall off the side and my child injuring himself.

Nice and solid. I like that they fold down when not in use.
I like how these rails attach to the opposite side of the bed so they stay put. I have two different aged grandchildren using the bed so it is nice to just be able to fold down the rail and have it not in the way when my teenage granddaughter is here. When my 4 year old granddaughter visits it can be put up and is a very sold rail support that does not give way when she rolls into it. The length is nice and long but still allows plenty of room to get off the bed at the foot of the bed. She likes that she can see through the netting when the rail is up. I definitely recommend this rail.

Will absolutely work on a crib!
I don't normally write reviews, but i felt I would for this item because it might help another parent out. And I'm all about making parents' lives easier.Let me start by saying that this rail looks great. When I was looking for a rail, I wanted one that I could use on both the curremt toddler daybed (from a convertible crib), but also on a twin bed when that time comes. I didnt wanna have to buy another one later.I put this rail together today. The instructions are not that clear, but if you have some common sense and read them over a few times, its very easy to assemble. When attaching to a crib, you need to use that same common sense and then its just as easy. I ordered a package of zipties (long ones) in advance after reading some reviews here. When installing on a crib with a metal mattress support, you will need the zip ties to hold the rail in place. People have said that the string with the anchor is too long for a crib - if u just use a little functional sense, it is not too long at all and DOES fit. So, i anchored the frame to the metal mattress support with zip ties. Make the string short to start. Then, all i did was wrap the string with the amchor around the back and brought the amchor to the front- fits perfect. Once its at the front and ready to anchor, adjust the rest of the length and insert mattress.I gave this item 4 stars because the instructions share nothing about crib use (wasn't a big deal for me, but might be for others). we've also only had it up for a day and finally, because I'm hoping that the mesh will hold up (my toddler seems to want to kick into it. ) also, I had to buy extra stuff to anchor it.But it looks great, easy to put together, looks like a quality piece compared to other rails I've seen, and is functional on a crib!

Second purchase. It works!
Good quality. Safe for toddlers in my opinion. My kids love getting into the crevice of the mattress and this guardrail to play but they can get themselves out. Its not a lot of space but I've read other reviews that have mentioned it.

It works good, easy to assemble and the best thing to give you tension free with your baby. And it’s a very good price compared with others.

Works great for a twin bed
We got this for my 2.5 year old who transitioned to a twin bed. This is long enough that she will not roll out but there is enough room for her to get out of bed on her own in the morning which I like. It is great quality as my daughter often rolls against it during the night and we’ve never had an issue. It does have a metal bar that can sit under the mattress and a piece to turn to secure it to the mattress frame or it comes with straps. It was a good price for the quality. We also can put it up after she falls asleep and it is quiet so it doesn’t wake her up.

Doesn't clip together...
I was really excited to get this. But the plastic piece is flipped around so there is no way to securely click in the metal tabs. There is no way to flip it around either. Not stable and does not stay in place. Big safety hazard. Ugh. Very frustrating that I have to now take it apart and wait more time for another one, and return then this item.
