Very good for the price
Not sure what to write here, I ordered this guitar and it took longer to reach me than expected. After finally receiving the instrument, I was pleased by the quality of the construction. The guitar holds a tune without any issues and sounds like a million bucks. Out of the box, without any setup other than tuning, the guitar is very playable and even included a quick chord reference card.Comparing this Fesley to my Jackson JS32T (Since they were both about the same price for me), the Fesley has a cleaner sound but that Jackson has a growl that's perfect for metal. The Jackson begs to be shredded on meanwhile the Fesley doesn't. The doesn't mean that you can't shred on the Fesley, just saying the Jackson feels demon possessed while Fesley does not. The Fesley build quality and fit and finish is just as good as the Jackson, if not better. Both are made in China, both have ceramic pickups, both are excellent choices.

My First Fesley - And I'm Impressed!
I am thoroughly impressed with this guitar! I honestly didn't know what to expect since it isn't as expensive as other guitars, but it plays VERY well. The tuning keys are smooth and easy to adjust. I was REALLY excited by the case as it is a backpack style with two straps. It also came with an automatic tuner, although it didn't come with a battery so I had to tune it manually. All of the extra goodies were surprising - includes a basic strap, instrument cable, 3 Fesley picks, tuner, case, whammy bar, a sander and cleaning cloth, along with other odds and ends. For $200, this was a great buy for the money!

Great for the price
Overall great for the price. The frets were gritty and needs polishing.fretboard needs a lot of conditioning. set up was great neck is straight. No sharp edge. Pickup was adequate but Lacks definition. Still great sounding. Looks is great. Hardwares good. I’m overall happy with it.

Remember it's a budget beginner
For the price it is a great beginner guitar, I bought it specially for the color, I love purple, the finish is absolutely stunning. I will be upgrading bridge and pickups and it needs a good set up. It came with too much relief in the neck. Otherwise, like I said for the money, it's spot on.

Unfortunate situation, still trying to be positive.
Unfortunately, this order was to replace the first guitar that wasn’t working. The guitar works this time, but the gig back was falling apart as soon as I tried opening it and none of the accessories, manual, picks, cable or anything else was in the package. Both Amazon and Fesley said they can’t help me with the issue because I’ve already had to return the first order…?! As if it were my fault the order arrived malfunctioning.

Fesley FDK800 - PLEASE READ ENTIRE REVIEW
I had seen multiple YT reviews on Fesley guitars and most were very positive. However, I have been taken in with hyped up positive reviews on other budget brands in the past and have been let down time and time again so I really didn’t expect much.Well, I have to say that I am impressed with the FDK800.I bought the blue one in February on Amazon for $189. For me it is a really comfortable guitar to play. The overall set up out of the box was pretty good, just a few minor adjustments were needed. Normal stuff you’d expect.Fit and finish is excellent, no flaws at all, and a decent flame in the maple top. Not the best but I would agree with the AAA designation. FYI, don’t go by the picture of the blue one, I believe that is a AAAA maple top shown. The flame seen in the black and sunburst examples is a more accurate representation. The neck is super smooth and the fret work excellent. The nut is bone and the slots are cut well. The Fesley branded tuners are 18:1 ratio and are surprisingly very good, no slipping and the guitar stays in tune. The strings that came on the guitar were actually some of the best I’ve gotten on any budget guitar although they did go sharp at times. My fault, not the strings. They felt really good and I had no black on my fingers after playing for a while but I am going to have to change them because I have a heavy grip and normally use 10-46. I figured these were 9-42 because of them going sharp and Fesley confirmed 9-42 when I contacted them. The gig bag is one of the better ones that I’ve gotten with any budget guitar and the included extras, i.e. cable, picks, strap, etc. are all pretty nice. For those of you who are interested, the guitar guitar weighed in at 7 lb 8 oz which I don’t think is too bad.I played the guitar a lot acoustically but wasn’t able to plug it in until recently. Unfortunately the humbucker was dead. I contacted Fesley directly and they responded right away. Kudos for their customer service. Even though I was past the Amazon return date, Fesley was still willing to work with me but I like the guitar a lot and didn’t want to return it. So, I have decided to take care of the problem on my own and replace the pups and wiring with GFS components. Total is about $125 for the replacement parts. All together the guitar with upgrades will end up costing me about $315. Honestly I would have replaced the components eventually anyway so I’m not all that upset over the humbucker. I don’t do a lot of upgrades to my budget guitars, only the ones I really like, and I really like this Fesley so I don’t mind spending the extra money. The biggest negative I have found is that the trem sucks. When using the trem the guitar will dive as expected but on release the tuning doesn’t recover. I never use a trem anyway so this is not a big concern of mine, but if you do use one, you won’t be happy. I will say that while I haven’t blocked the trem at all, the guitar has stayed in perfect tune even after heavy playing. If tuning becomes an issue in the future I will install a fixed bridge but right now it’s not necessary.Overall I rate the guitar 3 out of 5 because of the dead pickup. I think it’s an excellent guitar, never mind budget guitar, and chances of you getting one with a bad pickup are pretty slim. If the pickup worked it would have been 4 out of 5 for the guitar. And, from my experience, Fesley is excellent in the customer service department, 5 out of 5 all day long.EDITED April 24, 2025The nut is hard plastic, not bone as I said in the original review.
