Tough Blade for great Value
Got two of these blades for $15.00. You can't go wrong with this price and quality of the blades. The addition of the Ferro rods made it an easy purchase.

Small, Solid, Sharp and Useful in Many Ways
Although these knives are small you can find yourself using them more often than not. Having one in your tool box, tackle box, glove box or on your belt they will become your go-to blade when you need one for the every day uses from opening boxes to cutting rope to slicing an apple you will enjoy these knives. Although not of excellent quality they do stand up to heavy use by me. The blades do not need sharpening as often as you may think but a quick touch up helps keep them ready to use and if you Knick the blade it can easily be filed out or using a grinding wheel smoothed back into shape. The paracord is a cheap version and I did rewind it to provide a more comfortable grip since it is a solid piece of metal. The sheath is sturdy but also if you are not aware as you remove or replace the blade the sheath could easily be cut and damaged. The addition of the fire starter magnesium stick ensures you can always start a fire if needed. Considering the items(2), comes with 2, and the price, having these in any tool box is well worth having them especially when you need one and not having to worry about breaking your pocket knife when these will work just as well and you not worrying about damaging them. All things considered I have no issues or problems with these knives. A great gift to give for the prepper or for daily use... You wont go wrong for the price!

Great knifes for camping/surviving.
okay, I wasn't sure about these knives after reading the reviews or by the image alone but I thought, for $10...I'll give them a shot anyway.First thing is, made in America. At least that what it says on my blades. they are sharp, not professional grade Cutlery but then again this is not a professional grade cutting knife. it is a survivor "in a pinch" type of knife. So keep that in mind when deciding wether or not to buy this.I haven't really cut anything with this knife other than the tape holding the second knife in the box, so I can't really touch on durability. However, I used it with the ferrocerium rod it came with a few times and they seem to hold up well for that. The size is great. it's just the right size to stab, jab, cut or slpit small sticks or even use as a spear tip which brings me to my next point.I by only solid steel knifes, hatchets or blades in general for survival or camping anyway. the reason is, you can sharpen the base of this knife to use as a different spear tip or sharpen another edge of this knife anywhere you see fit to make it more versatile. you can use any edge of this knife as it is, even the handle to use with your ferrocerium rod which will save your blade in the long run. I like that the cold steel can be shaped and modified to fit my needs. The cordage used on the handle, not Paracord. It just looks like the green outer casing on paracord. it does not have any internal strands of any count to make it more than just lacing on the handle. that is the only reason I didn't give this 5 stars. Paracord isn't that much and they would not have to drive the price up that much to add real Paracord. You have a really good product for the price, just add the real Paracord and kick it up a notch. I had to add a knot to the chord at the base to keep the lacing from loosing as you can see in the pic.And last, your getting two knives and ferrocerium rods for $10! for the price, these things are great for what they are made for, survival or camping excursions. these are not designed for everyday use like a pocket knife or a kitchen knife even though these are sharp enough if you would like to carry one around with you to accommodate your daily cutting needs. I will add some pics so you can see the size for yourself, but my recommendation is this; great price for two knifes, sharp enough, made in America and versatile. keep all this in mind when reading other reviews.

Wow!
I'd like to address some of the problems listed in the reviews. First of all, that the blade doesn't come already sharpened - took me 2 minutes to give it a razors edge. Is it made of Solagen steel to hold an edge for weeks? Probably not... it cost 5 bucks. But it will take an edge. Secondly, that the magnesium rod falls out of the holder easily - that has not been my experience. Both knife and rod fit snugly, but that might change with some wear (which would be true of any holder of this material). Thirdly, that the "paracord" around the handle is crap - it is. If you needed that paracord for true paracord uses, good luck! But if you just need it to provide a comfortable grip on the knife it should be serviceable. I use these in survival kits and in a SHTF situation they will be better than almost anything I've seen in such kits (like, say, an Exacto blade). And at $5.00 each, I can afford to use them instead. Will this become an heirloom my customers pass down to their grandkids? Of course not. Will it potentially save a life - perhaps. The bottom line is if you are looking for an everyday carry knife or a good hunting knife, this isn't it. But if that is what you're looking for, it's going to cost you a lot more than 5 bucks. Overall, a great knife for the price!

Good buy
I purchased these for my 20 year old kids for Christmas. I read the reviews and figured that I could live with the complaints for the price. The knives were good for beginners, or SHTF. They came sharp and ready to use. The holder had velcro that wasn’t great, but, is okay for now if secured upright. It is a good deal for the price and purpose.
