Q: I received my light and i do like it. i found that the white light flickers. why is it doing that? do i need to return it?

I have 2 of these lights. Ordering 2 more tonight. That sucks what happened to Linda. I had one get moisture inside the light from the air stone popping little bubbles. I contacted Hygger directly and they sent me a new one very fast AND it was outside the warranty AND I should've had a tank lid on as well. That's beyond impressive customer service, especially these days. NEVER had a flickering problem. If the light is in constant contact with moisture it may have been infiltrated with water. If so, maybe they'll send a new one as it's advertised as "sealed" with "waterproof glue."

Q: Does this light get hot on the top?

If on brightest setting it gets warm but not hot. I set it to one setting below brightness and barely gets warm at all.

Q: Do I need to manually turn on the light by pressing the on/off button or the light will be turn on itself when I set the timer 3h/6h/12h?

You turn it on one time, then the timer will turn it off and on using the hours interval you set. The interval starts from whenever you turn it on, so if you want to turn on at 8am and off at 8 pm, then you set 12 hours, and turn it on at 8am, then you're done until you unplug it or manually turn it off and back on. Off isn't really off, it's just a very low dim setting.

Q: Can this light be used without built in timer so it can be turned on and off by an outlet timer

Important thing to note for anyone wanting to do this, when using an outlet timer the light does *NOT* remember what light settings you had on it, so it automatically resets to the default colours and full brightness.
