"Get me home" repair at best
I followed the instructions accurately, placed the putty in the small hole in my fuel tank, applied the gauze and painted the sealant on. Everything seemed ok and looked a much better job than the JB weld I'd had in for the previous 4 years. Now, only a year later I have fuel all over my garage floor after complete failure of the repair. I have removed the repair to find the putty has completely broken up and the little bits of grot are lying in the tank. So in conclusion I'd say: 1) Repair does not last and 2) putty disintegrates on contact with petrol. I'm now doing what I should have done in the first place - aluminium weld repair.
