This Bino is perfect and done the job neatly. Now why do you choose 8x40 magnification? if you study on internet you would find this is an all round right and perfect magnification you need, better than 10x50 because of small field of view which is not difficult but takes a bit more seconds to focus on object you looking at. Focusing is much easier on 8x40 and it is quick.This Bino is non zoom-able, means it doesn't equipped with the zoom facility and has a fixed magnification of 8x40 and is perfect to watch almost anything very neatly. Lenses equipped in it are not multilayer coated rather monolayers. "Nikon acculon 8x42 has multicoated lenses (let more light enters into the lens hence clear vision in low light )", though the difference between multilayer coatings and 'mono' layer coating is extremely small or say negligible in these low cost binos, and you will be hard to discover it in any object you see.Olympus 8x40 DPSI model has another zoom-able version, zoom-able binos get into the collimation problem after of many use (Expert says). Unlike cameras binos are equipped with more than one lens and those have to be move simultaneously while you zoom and here's the problem occur (after of many use)Quality:- The bino is very sturdy and of high built quality, the gripping body is rock solid. Comes with a hanging strap and a carry bag, 4 lens caps. Though the bino is little bit heavy but it's normal for a binocular made of good solid material and of this size :) it's seems durable, high-quality finish with sure-grip rubber coating. This is a fantastic product. Used it recently in jungle a area to sight both wildlife and birds, it has left me with some stunning images and colours. Also used it for sky gazzing and it works wonders here too. I have used more powerful binoculars than this at the same time and can conclude that it simply works better than some of its competitors products which cost 3 to 4 times more than its cost.5 Stars : for build, quality, user friendliness4 Stars : Lens protection, would prefer something that could be tagged along with the binoculars.

This really good binocular for bird watching in dense tropical forest you will have a clear wide view with details till 200 mtrs distance that's great in a lush green environment.as it's having a wide lens very easy to focus any thing and even follow a flying bird it works even in dawn and dusk with very good image quality focusing is very easy.only draw back might be it's not useable in rainy season as it's not water proof.Product quality is very good with a hologram sealed pack which can't be tampered. If you are a beginer you can go for it. Kids below 15 might feal little heavy in there hands for long use.

Arrived a day early so thanks to Photo Media and Amazon. Ideal starter bins for avid bird watchers albeit not from a distance since the magnification is 8x. However remarkably steady field of view in beautiful 3D. Removable protective caps not really a hindrance and strap is ok but may have to be replaced with wear. Case is sufficiently padded and protective. My son loves bird watching and he is able to use well.

This is my First product From Brand Olympus. At first I hesitated to buy this binocular. Because it's expensive. But after reading all the reviews I havedecided to purchase the product. I think i didn't make the mistake to purchase it. The images aren't like cheap ordinary binocular. Very Sharp & Crystal Clear image with nice zooming option. At this price point, u can't get better than this one, But if you want higher zoom then go for higher models. After all it's a quality product & I really like it..

This product just arrived today and as per my expectations this was amazing. After a lot of research I bought this. Initially I was lloking fir something more powerful like Celestron 15*70 or 20*50 but these binoculars are really heavy to carry and will need a tripod which is obviously not very convenient to carry everywhere you go.Thus i searched more and zeroed it on this Olympus 8*40 DPSI. This is a very handy binocular and has a good focus as compared to other binoculars in this price range. Its adjustment capabilities will be convenient for any person with specs or without it, secondly its lightweight so you can carry it anywhere easily.Its good for bird watching and upto a certain level territorial gazing but not for stargazing as for that you need to have atleast 15*70.But the carrystraps could have been better and the lens covers are not attached so it can get misplaced.But if you are looking for a decent binoculars at a price range of 4000-5000 this is the best you can go for.
