I was looking for something large enough to hold papers, envelopes and folders with varying shapes and sizes that I routinely toss down haphazardly. Size is great and meets my needs - tray manages to contain everything without requiring me to neatly organize everything to ensure it fits. I also appreciate the height of the sides - I find them tall enough to handle a wobbly stack of mail and paperwork but not tall enough to make the tray an eyesore.I wanted the tray to be wood as opposed to metal, but I didn't want a wood tones or finished. As I type that, I'm feeling like that is awfully particular for an inexpensive paper tray. Regardless, the tray is just what I was looking for in the material and style categories. The wood and assembly are sturdy. The weight and thickness of the materials seems to offer sufficient durability at a reasonable price. The material lining the base looks a bit cheap and flimsy, but it's held up fine so far and it's usually covered by a stack of something.The minor issue costing it that fifth star is the quality of the paint or paint application; it arrived with paint chipping in each of the corners and around some of the edges. It wasn't enough to make me want to return it and I guess I don't notice it much either, since I haven't made any effort to touch it up. I suppose this may be more of a concern for someone with intentions of using the tray on a client-facing desk though.

I purchased 2 of these and stacked them. They're well made and I love how they look. I've been using them for a while now and they're great! Highly recommended!!!

Definitely gives your desk that High Brow look. Even though it was a little pricey, it's so well made and gorgeous... and it's not like I'm going to be replacing it anytime soon. I suppose all in all, it's worth it. This will probably last a lifetime. I love the height of the sides which make this able to hold a higher stack of paper than most traditional desk trays. Although I am not stacking mine, I can see where they would stack very nicely. All in all, this is an excellently made, gorgeous wood product... very black.. which is good, matches all the other desk top accessories from Victor. I'm definitely loving it as I do all my other pieces from Victor... Would definitely buy again... and probably will... Oh, the inside of the tray is lined with a leather look, extra classy! Mine came packaged inside two very thick hard foam separators... they definitely took great care in their packing... You could have dropped the box it came in off the roof and I seriously don't see how anything could happen to the tray inside with all that protection.

I ordered 4 of these letter trays for my office. They arrived well wrapped, but there were issues with three of them. There is a note in the box to email if there was any problem. I emailed and I had a response within seconds. I was amazed and a couple of emails later, we came to a resolution that I was happy with. Can’t say enough about their customer service. As to the letter trays, they are very attractive and sturdy and look great on my desk.

I am very VERY picky about my office accessories. They have to be functional, beautiful and sleek. None of the frou frou stuff for me. In that same vein, I purchased the Bedford Collection in black from pottery barn, but woe is me--PB does not make a letter tray to match that line.I've been scouring the internet for MONTHS for letter trays. Everything else looked cheap or didn't match. One day I randomly typed, "black letter tray," and this beauty came up. Not only does amazon offer it at the cheapest price (staples offers it for 10.00 more than here), but honestly, these things are beautiful! They match my PB stuff perfectly. They are sleek, modern, elegant, functional. In short, everything I've been looking for.Yeah, yeah, you say, it's just a letter tray for goodness sake! But, if you work in a high-end environment like I do, you will understand that your office--and how you keep it, says a lot about who you are. I was so enamoured of the first one that I ordered a second tray, and I'm thinking of just going ahead and ordering a third.Victor Tech knocked it out of the park.

It looks and feels well made; very solid. I gave it only four stars because the dimensions are notwhat are stated. It says 13.7 inches long and the actual is 13.25" long. And it actually mattersfor me because I was going to use it for the platform for my car's audio amp under the passenger seat.That extra missing 1/2" is critical for me, so this really screws up my timetable as it was hard to find this size and colorto begin with. I was initially very pleased though at how thick the bottom was. It is exactly what I wanted...just wrong size.I was going to return it, but I think I can make it work.

These are the best looking and highest quality sorting trays I've owned. They look professional, they're solidly built and well packaged to arrive intact and unmarked. The leather traybed is an excellent added detail, and these stack not only with themselves, but with the front-load model as well. The stacking itself isn't perfect, they can shift as there is no bump or tab to hold them in place (gravity mostly covers that job), but it's not such an issue as to deduct a star for it. As well, these have almost exactly the same dimensions as Victor's multi-tray storage tower (confusingly named Desktop Organizer) so you can add one of these atop it as an Inbox.Well worth the premium price if you're sick of cheap plastic or brittle bamboo.

I have most of the Victor "Midnight Black" series adorning my workstation, and as far as desk accessories go, there's nothing on the market I've been able to find as nice as this set - the letter trays especially. Most everything out there is rounded plastic junk, easily knocked over for being too lightweight, and about as visually appealing as dollar store merchandise. For a professional look and quality, the Victor trays are many steps above the rest. Real wood, not often-warped bamboo, paint finished and coming fully assembled so it won't collapse a year later like flatpack self-assembly goods. The leather tray bed is a nice touch, as is the fact that the front or side-load tray will stack on the Victor desk organizer (confusingly-named multi-tray unit).The one and only criticism of these trays is the stacking. They do stack, and their weight holds them in place well enough, but there is little in their design to hold them in place. Sideways they do hold, but they can slide forward on each-other. Not the biggest issue, and when you add in that you can stack side-load on front-load should you need such configuration, it's a fair trade-off.
