It's a pity, because the construction is good and the markings are clear, but the scale is way off! I compared measurements taken against 2 digital thermometers and one other glass thermometer, all 3 of which I trust because they agree with each other very closely.At 134'C real temperature, this item reads 110'CAt 158'C, this reads 121'CAt 236'C, this reads 200'CSo the deviation is neither constant nor linear, which sadly renders this useless as a thermometer.

Arrived perfectly protected and with fragile labels. The numbers are as clear as they can be for the scale but can easily read it. I haven't done too many things with it thus far but it does seem accurate. 100% recommend

This thermometer does not work and is not fit for purpose. There is no spirit in the thermometer. Clearly, no quality control.

used every day, from both negative to positive, various acids oils etc, and hasnt lost any accuracy at all.....

I have always been very pleased by the quality of these UK made thermometers. They are very accurate and have a very clear marking (ring) showing maximum immersion depth of 76mm. The lower limit is -10°C on the very clearly scribed scale to 200°C at its maximum. The tiny bore allows the expansion and contraction of the blue spirit which the glass magnifies so you can very easily and clearly read the temperature. At the top of the thermometer is a silicone clip attachment allowing you to thread string to it enabling dip testing in larger vats or vessels. Absolutely love the range of thermometers this manufacturer has and they are all high quality calibrated and accurate. Highly recommended, Andrew
