When my daughter is in the hiking pack it's helpful to be able to see her every now and again and this mirror is PERFECT for that. Very lightweight and a great length for the chain.

Very thin. Did not come with the advertised chain.

This is advertised as an "Army Mirror" and it is similar to those of old. They were also metal, with highly polished surfaces and relatively indestructible, but, much thicker and more sturdy. This mirror is thin and unless great care is taken to keep it flat when packed I expect it will be bent and creased. It is very light weight. The surface is very highly polished. So, it will work well for personal hygiene use. However, the mirror is clearly die cut or stamped out. The edges are unfinished and are very sharp. I think if you were to reach into your pack and rake your hand down the edge, especially if your skin was a little wet, you will be cut. That is a significant deduction. If it included a carrying cover that would possibly partially offset this shortcoming.This mirror is very functional. But, for a similar expenditure you can have a model which is thicker, much more durable and with coated or smooth finished edges. I can't recommend this one because of the poor edge quality.

This stainless steel camping mirror is simple and practical. It is lightweight, about 3" x 4" in size, and portable enough to take anywhere. The included 24" chain is useful for hanging in a tent or bathroom, although it's thin and not very strong. The mirror itself works well for basic needs like shaving or quick checks while outdoors. It's not something you'd want to rely on for super clear, detailed reflections, but for camping or emergencies, it gets the job done. Its size makes it easy to stash in a backpack or glove box, and it's durable enough to handle some bumps along the way.

I believe in safety, training others well, and being prepared. This is something everyone needs on hikes, camping, and trips in general. This is a way to signal to others, whether it's sunny or not - you can use your flashlights. Also, this doubles as a mirror for when you cleanup your faces or put your camo on. It's a good size for most hands and comes with a little tag chain so you can attach it to a pack and have less chance of losing it. If it's something you think you want to add to your packs, then it might be worth it.

It's an effective mirror. (Remember to peel off the blue protective film and use that side.) It is effectively fog-free in that it quickly heats up past the dew point of a shower.This style of mirror is always small, and this one is no exception, at about 3"×4". I don't know why they can't make them bigger.That said, the edges on this one are not well finished. It looks like they used a burr removal tool, and that got rid of the burr, but it also had the effect of sharpening the edges. I can take a fine file to it to round it over, but I wouldn't want to take it into the shower without doing that.
