A very good hybrid device for the money
I've had my Lenovo Miix 2 11.6" for a week now and it's a great device. I develop software and hauling around a laptop can be a real hassle. I wanted something which was compact but packed enough punch that I could still use it productively. And while I'm at it I thought I may as well get a device which could be used as a tablet. The Lenovo Miix 2 11.6" seemed to meet my requirements. I chose the higher end spec with an i5-4202Y processor, 4GB RAM and 256GB SSD. The low end spec has a i3-4012Y and half the RAM & storage. There is little difference between the i5 and i3 aside from a slight clock speed bump but the extra RAM and storage is important to me. It came with Windows 8.1 64-bit preinstalled although SR1 is out and is a noticeable usability improvement. You also get a proper keyboard / dock included in the package which is great especially compared to the MS Surface Pro devices where it is an expensive extra. The tablet feels weighty for one handed use but it does have a nearly 12" screen. It also has a micro-HDMI port, micro SD slot, a charging / USB slot, fore and rear cameras, GPS, bluetooth & wifi. It's quite slim considering it houses an i5 processor but there are vents at the top and bottom to draw air over the CPU and sometimes you can hear the faint whir of a fan. The wifi reception is good - I had no trouble using it around my house. The screen is excellent. It's bright, hi resolution and has good viewing angles. The downside is the DPI is so high that many desktop applications look tiny! Windows 8.1 has a setting to upscale applications to make them more readable but they look a bit blurry when upscaled. Fortunately upscaling can be disabled via shortcut properties and some apps like Firefox say they're high dpi aware. The keyboard dock is pretty good - with a keyboard that has nice travel, a track pad, speakers and some USB ports. The keys are a little cramped though, particularly where '1' is in relation to the 'Q' has caused me some annoying typos. The track pad works but there was no software for setting up gestures or mouse wheel - I hope a better driver exists but I haven't investigated yet.The tablet rests in the dock in a slot and is held secure with magnets. You can put the tablet forward like a laptop, backwards (for watching movies perhaps), or in a closed position. The magnets hold the two parts together and protect against knocks but they're not secure enough to dangle the device upside down or even tilt it more than a few degrees - be careful moving the tablet around while it's open! I think I would prefer if it had been a clip instead but it works well enough when you're seated. The CPU performance is good for the form factor. It's responsive enough for desktop use and faster than a netbook. But the i5 is a low power variant and favours power conservation over performance. The integrated GPU too - I was able to get Portal 2 playing about 15fps on low settings so it's mostly suitable for casual games and those which are 4 or 5 years old. Battery life seems to be around the 4-5 hour mark depending on what you do. The charger looks like a very chunky phone charger and a reasonably long cable for charging. It takes about 90 minutes to charge. The device will hibernate or sleep depending on how much power it has left but it comes out of hibernation fairly fast. The SSD is quite fast. For some reason Lenovo carved off a 25GB chunk for a handful of drivers which I found annoying but I used the disk manager to merge that partition into my C: drive. There is also another 11GB recovery partitions that I left alone. I also deleted some preinstalled junk (MS Office trial, antivirus trial etc.) to save some space. All told I had about 215GB free disk space after all this. The tablet also has a micro SD slot under a cover which could boost storage further, or act as a ready boost / swap device. Speaking of swap, the device only set aside 4GB so you may want to bump it up a bit.So that's my impressions. Overall it's a good device. Build quality is great, the screen is bright, the device hasn't misbehaved on me once so far and a very good keyboard dock is included. All positives. On the negative side, the keyboard is a bit cramped, the screen bezel is a bit large and I found myself fiddling around to configure little things to make it to my liking.

Rubbish
I have had this device approximately 6 months so my review is not a knee jerk response to a single instance of an issue. The device constantly reports a low memory error and on occasion has shut down on me. For the money I paid experience a low memory when I am using NO APPLICATIONS is rubbish.

Pretty good but there are much cheaper tablets out there which are just as good!
A lovely looking Tablet with a magnetic clasp which keeps the tablet secure both open and closed. I have to say it is lovely but specification wise and user ability there are other tablets which are just as good as this but a lot cheaper! I really don't think the £550 price tag I paid was worth it. The T100 and the Click 2 were just as good and you saved £200. I think Lenovo are just bumping up the price because they can. I sent mine back as it was a warehouse deal and it was a little more damaged than expected. As usual Amazon were fantastic with a return and the refund. I now have a Sony Vaio Duo 13 which is amazing so Im glad I sent this back.

Excellent convertable tablet with good battery life
An excellent, cheaper alternative to the surface2. The build quality is the usual lenovo high standard, and feels like it will last for a long time.It isn't bloated with useless programs and runs quickly out of the box. Also very happy to get it on prime pre-order and saved £150 over the normal price. Real bargain at that price

Surprisingly poor performance
I generally don't bother writing reviews but felt I needed explain my disappointment with this machine.Firstly, I bought the 8gb ram version, imported from the US as it worked out a fair bit cheaper even with the import costs. I've never really bought a higher-end computer before so was looking forward to a much quicker experience. This review is based on about a month's use.Considering this is an i5 processor, 8gb ram and a solid state drive, the performance is very poor and I believe it is mostly down to the processor and graphics. I wasn't expecting this to handle high-end games because the hardware is essentially packed into a tablet but it can barely handle Civilization V and Football Manager. My previous 3 year old i3 laptop managed these fine. There are quite a number of other problems with this machine:- The magnetic connection is a ridiculous gimmick. It's always being knocked slightly off its connector and the angle can't be changed. If you've got it on your lap then be careful as the tablet has tipped forwards and fallen off a number of times.- The USB charging port still actually requires you to use the supplied lenovo charger. I was hoping to be able to use it with my Anker powerIQ charger but the required voltage is higher and it doesn't support slower charging like many other tablets.- You can't turn the screen off without putting the computer to sleep! With most mobile phones and tablets you can press the power button once and your music will continue to play and downloads will continue. Not on this tablet - apparently it's an issue with this generation of Intel processors. If you close your laptop and leave it on to download things overnight then this isn't for you, nor if you listen to music before going to sleep.- Build quality is very average for a computer of this price. It's regular plastic all over, the back picks up scratches and since the tablet has a habit of falling forwards off the magnetic connector, the screen has picked up a scratch.- It's also worth mentioning that the touchpad doesn't even support multitouch which I assumed was a given nowadays, particularly with a high-end device like this.Since I got this imported it's not possible to return. I guess I only have myself to blame for not doing enough research and perhaps a high end dedicated laptop would have been better suited for my needs. I would say that a regular touch laptop for half the price would have better power and a decent android tablet would offer a much better tablet experience.
