I’ve used these and others like it in the snow and ice. Easy to put open after you practice a time or 2. I’m using them on a small suv with pretty small tires. Just that little bit of plastic pulls me right out of the deep snow. Does give me traction on ice. Often I’ve taken mine off, ran down the mountain and put on another awd so they can get out. I have in all my vehicles.

I read the other reviews after i got back from a skiing weekend where I had to use these. We drove up when there was quite some fresh snow. These chains were fairly easy to put on and attached. But pretty much immediately they broke and fell off. Thankfully they didn't rip a brake hose as they scratched up the wheelhouse and flew all over the place.The rubber/plastic could not hold the force of the straps so they ripped.I bough 12 and more than half of then where broke when I had gotten out of the snowy parking spot i needed to get out of. I had to give up and go home again. Thankfully I was not in an exposed situation.If someone would rely on these when in a difficult situation they could really end up in trouble.The quality of these are so low that they should not be allowed to be sold. Someone could really end up in a dangerous situation.

The easy-to-use

This product work well if you installed correctly. I installed my items during the snow and it was a pain my fingers was freezing because of the angle of the straps around the tires take so long. When it come to tightening the straps I was not able to do it. Therefore while driving I lost 2 pieces, I would recommend to install before snow and also find the best way to put them on.

I really liked the concept of these and the fact that I could install them in one go without having to roll forward to complete the installation. I mistakenly thought they would be easier to install than chains or cables. Turns out I was wrong. Rolling forward is easier than installing these things. There are 3 for each wheel, which means 6 buckles for each wheel. And the straps don't like to thread through the buckles because the buckles don't open far enough. And half the buckles broke off the first time I used them. On a drive of less than 5 miles. I absolutely can't recommend these to anybody. I replaced them with a pair of auto socks that work better, have a surprising amount of grip, are easier to install, and easier to uninstall. After using the auto socks once, I immediately got a second pair for my wife's car. But these things, never again.

I would not feel right about giving these only one star because even though they were destroyed and it took over two hours to get out of the snow I finally got unstuck.I do a lot of road trips and about half of them I do alone. I bought these because they seemed to be easy to use if I had to do it on my own, thankfully the one time I had to use them I had help.The straps were difficult to get through the wheels and very difficult to get through the clasp. The instructions do not talk about the chains needed to be in a specific direction which by the way is very important. The instructions also do not talk about the scraper it comes with and how to use it, once I figured that out it made it a bit easier. Half of the chains were and the sides of the wheels have deep scratches on them that will not polish out.All in all if you buy these be warn they are a ONE TIME USE! Do not put them on your brand new car because they will destroy your wheels. It's a shame because I really wanted to like these.

The chains are what they are described as. I wouldn't go faster than 20km/hr as when I did one of the straps broke. Another annoying feature is that the little spring loaded closing mechanism breaks easily also.
