For what it’s meant for, it’s really nice
First, this isn’t a safe. It’s just a box with combo locks, meant to deter snoopy people. It won’t do anything against a determined entrant, and the label reminds you of that, before you go and use it to hold your gold bricks. This one’s marketed as fitting under the bed, comes with a cable that normally costs extra so you can secure it to a fixed object, and is aimed at college students to deter nosy roomies. Wish I had this when I was in college...I already have one in a different configuration, oriented for files; the combination locks were easy to set and work just fine, so I wanted another for larger, horizontally oriented items. This one stacks easily with other stuff, and if positioned with locks facing inward, just looks like an instrument case or something. It was easy to set the locks on this one, too; they worked perfectly right away. I’m not in and out of this box daily, so I can’t say how well they’ll hold up, but I’ve accessed my other one at least thirty times without a problem so far.I like the tactical black color scheme; it really is subtle, doesn’t draw attention to the box. Haven’t used the cable. I didn’t love that it only has one hinge inside, but they put a notch for the cable on the other side instead of a hinge. We’ll see if that was a good idea in the long run or not; I’m hoping I don’t have to get into this thing all the time, in that case. I’d rather have had the two hinges for increased stability.Still, the hinge that’s there is sturdy enough, holds the lid open by itself when fully extended. It’s a bit stiff, doesn’t want to fold back easily, but that’s intentional so it will keep the lid up when you want it to.Lots of capacity. I can fit everything I need to in here.I like this for an emergency box—not fireproof or anything, but something you grab when you have to leave, where you keep spare meds, important docs, etc. It’s not going to survive if you don’t get to take it with you, but it would come in handy if you had to evacuate, would give you a modicum of privacy for your stuff in a shelter or motel. I’m torn between this and a vertically oriented one for that use, though—this one needs both hands for you to carry it properly, esp if it’s not empty, while vertical design is a one-hand grab. The other reason I like it is when having work done in house, or home showings; it gives me an easy place to stash bills and receipts and things I don’t want to fall into the wrong hands, safely away from prying eyes. It can fit a laptop easily, even a big one, and still has room for more; could probably stack 3 average laptops in one of these if you had to.A useful device. I don’t like keyed ones, as a person who loses keys but can remember a number code; if you’re better with keys, they make those kinds, too.

Good for things you want hidden, not protected.
Hey man this is a solid deal. I don't regret it. The other reviews are for the most part accurate. The locks are aight. Not too strong but will keep kids out and discourage roommates. I could definitely break this thing if I tried but like.... why would I do that. Anyway. It's a good box. Keeps things hidden. Keep it under your bed or in a closet and it'll be fine.NOT FIRE PROOF

Good locking mech, kinda flimsy quality
If it were up to the locking mechanism to keep safe the items I placed inside this box, then this would have been a 5/5 review, but the walls of this box are so thin, someone with a bit of strength can probably just punch the box and put a hole in it. But, since I wasn’t putting anything of value or personal items in this box, it serve my purposes just fine. Just don’t go placing the family jewels inside this box or they will be compromised.

Works good for what I bought it for
My husband did some toy shopping one day and went a bit overboard. Next thing I know I have a laundry basket size box of them just sitting in our room taking us floor and hamper space. I got this to store them in and it works well. Soft inside. Two number locks on the outside work well. Quite spacious actually, got it all to fit neatly.

Perfect size
It is exactly what I was looking for. The perfect size, slides perfectly under the bed out of the way and locks to keep out the kids.

great case for casual storage but not strong enough to protect valuables.
As a container for general storage, it works pretty well. However, there are a few things to be wary about when considering one of these vaultz storage boxes. In the past, I bought the VZ00121 model box (12L x7.6H x 8W inches) and it's a really well-made box with the only downside being the finicky generic small key that requires more than a 360-degree turn to unlock. But after buying this box and a full black version of the same size box, I realized that the quality dropped in certain aspects.Pros:-simple locks. spin the combo and slide the square knobs sideways-looks professional with minimal branding-light and easy to carry-inside cloth material is pretty soft and protective-nice small hinge to hold the lid up-easy to change the passwordCons:-the rivets that hold the corner frames feel like they can easily pop out-the combination lock is super wobbly and loose with barely any noticeable click feedback that lets people know that the number is slotted correctly. it feels like a brittle metal material-not all cases have the same issue, but the glue that was probably used to stick the inner cloth may be stuck to the combination lock hatch. As shown in the screenshots, i struggled to pry open one of the hatches due to a gel-like substance. other than that, the hatches flip out smoothly.Things to consider:-the center area of the walls is pretty flexible and slightly flimsy. The material is a grippy solid plastic texture that feels like the same level of protection as a travel suitcase. Not the worst, not the best.-If you want a more secure vaultz box, the VZ00121 model I mentioned is a lot sturdier than this box. The key padlock has a much better build quality compared to the combination locks (despite the simple key design). Additionally, due to the smaller size, the walls are much firmer and more solid. the only missing feature for the VZ00121 model is not having a metal wire to secure the box-Handles are only on the width side of the box. meaning you can't carry it horizontally like a suitcase or from the top. at least it provides handles on both sides making it easy to pull out from under the bed.-There are no dividers to sort the contents of the box, so as long as it's not something too fragile, the box should be able to protect the contents-The corners of the boxes have rubber feet so it's not suitable to slide out from solid floors, but it still easily slides out from carpet grounds. At least the rubber feet prevent the metal/ plastic materials from scratching hard wood surfaces. If the combination lock had a better build quality, I would've given this item a 5-star rating, but it just had to have a cheap lock that made it feel less secure and reliable.Overall, nice box for storage with entry-level security. It works out pretty well for storing camera gear and electronic devices, but it also requires buying packaging foam to make it truly protective.

Excellent value
Perfect for keeping honest people out. I use to lock my kid’s electronics (2 laptops, iPad, oculus, phone. I like the 3 digits in case I forget the combo it won’t take me decades to figure it out. The cable is the right size for connecting to my bed’s leg and storing under my bed. It could easily be destroyed open with a crow bar, but otherwise strong construction. The all black looks slick and expensive.

Works as a simple lockbox
I bought this just for home use to keep the kids out of more sensitive or dangerous things. It won't stop a determined robber or something like that but that's not I was looking for when I bought this. I was just looking for a spacious box with a simple lock on it and this was a perfect fit.

Fit for purpose. Good size.

fragile not strong. locks below standard.
One lock opens other doesn't. So can't open box. Plus it looks like solid box. Plastic or very thin aluminium. Not at all secure. Can be cut into easily or a hard punch woukd break it.

great size
great size fits four MacBooks easily with room to spare. wish the security cable was more securely attached into box. just rests on the lip of the box. have to be careful and remember to place it back in position each time you open box or it pops out.
