This model does the job for me. The plastic is sturdy, so there is no problem of the bottle or handle flexing and causing spillage -- unlike Drive Medical Male Urinal, White. That product is much flimsier and due to a design flaw simply grabbing the handle causes the lid to pop of.Stick with the Nova unit. I recommend purchasing direct from Amazon to get the product as pictured. I bought one off this page from "Direct Care Store", who instead sent me the unusable model above, and repeatedly refused both to give me a full refund and that they had sent me the wrong item.

This urinal works well for my elderly father. I have purchased urinals locally and they were not as well made or designed as these and were more expensive. The bottom of these helps prevent tipping, especially if you put a bit of water in the bottom after yourinse them clean. They are thickerplastic so again it keeps themfrom tipping. They are less expensive than the ones I purchased locally, so we can throw them away when they get even a little icky. Thank God!

Those reading these reviews for this product may wonder how there have been such disparate experiences, and the answer is that like many of these sort of products without retail market branding, there is no guarantee you'll get the same product from one seller to the next. Possibly even from one production run to the next. I'd like to think that each seller has uniformity in product, but haven't tested that theory yet.The first time I ordered one of these I received a sturdy, heavyweight plastic device with a tight-fitting, leak-proof lid, as pictured in the photo on the page, and it came in an equally sturdy cardboard retail box. It was such a great buy that in the intervening months I completely forgot that I had ordered it from Amazon directly, not from a marketplace seller. This was before the new Add-On Item thing, so I didn't have a reason to not order from Amazon at the time.But, of course, when I ordered another recently at a lower price I didn't pay attention to the seller and got a flimsy plastic bit of nonsense that arrived, a bit wrinkled and creased from having been partly crushed as well as two days after the delivery estimate, in a padded envelope without even a plastic bag between it and the doubtless many hands and other things with which it may have had contact. Not that sterile, antiseptic packaging is a big deal for such an item, but even washing this second one in hot water would likely weaken or deform it. It really is as sturdy as a store-brand plastic milk jug. Or more like a store-brand water jug. The kind that doesn't even rate a screw-cap. Mea Culpa on that, though. I neglected my due diligence as a consumer.So with one five-star and one one-star experience from the "same" item, I'm giving this three stars. Feel free to order this, but know not every seller will have the same item and be aware that if you think you're getting a very good deal you're probably getting a very bad one.

Very affordable and functional unit. I used to use a urinal that I brought home from the hospital and kept washing it which is a nasty job. These are so affordable they can be thrown away and replaced. I love that the cap is so well attached. Others I've used from a hospital have a cap that kept coming off. Would give it 5 stars but the base should be bigger so it doesn't fall over so easily. (But only when empty. With liquid in it it's ok.)

Very sturdy plastic construction. Stable when used and won't tip over. Designed perfectly for gentlemen to use in the dark, in bed and rest it on a bedside table of over a bed rail. The cap is useless and unnecessary. Just empty and spritz with a bleach based bathroom product and it is ready to go. We have used these Nova Urinals for years and can't say anything but good things about them.

The cap is very flimsy and hard to place right. Because it is thin, it doesn't seal properly and leaks.I have used similar bottles. Some with screw on caps and some with snap on caps that have reinforcing ridges that seal good.

100% better than my last urinal that started to leak when I used the flimsy handle to shake it, to rinse it and it opened up the seam and started to leak.This one is made of much heavier duty plastic and feels very solid and the handle is molded to the bottle and the cap is very tight and these one should last for a very long time.I have a tip for you to keep it from smelling, that I found on YouTube.After I rinse it I squirts about three or four squirts of dish watching liquit and little white vinegar (about) a tea spoonful and shake it a little and you're done.I filled an empty 16 oz bottle of alcohol from a gallon bottle of Vinegar so it will be much easier to pour and it won't smell, If you smell the bottle after you urinate, all you smell is Vinegar.Hope this will help you out.

This is second urinal I have ordered from this company and both were titled Nova male urinal. The first one received last August was simply terriffic, outstanding product. This one is different. It is taller than the other but holds the same amount making it have a thinner body. That's OK, but its base is smaller and it does not seem to set steadily on any surface. It works, but I find I have to be very careful to keep it from falling over. So, the company must have changed suppliers and the new product is not nearly as good as the old product. Can't recommend this product but do not know where you might find a better one at this price. Had to add this about the urinal after it had been used. While washing it I found that the lid when snapped in place leaks. It is not watertight.
