Better than before Go Power
This is my second 1750hd Go Power Inverter. My first one lasted 7 years in our winter travels in our 36’ 5th wheel. When I received this one last month, I was surprised to see how much lighter and smaller in size it was. I replaced and had it running for a test in 10 minutes. Very quiet, heated a cup of water in my micro wave, my wife ran the vacuum. We generally use our inverter when we do dry camping and want to watch a movie off the TV and PVR, for our recharging phone and 110v lights.

Inductive loads and what one REALLY needs!
After testing a friends that had this one but a older model I went ahead and bought it to run a 1/3 horse swamp cooler motor which the older did run just fine...The new Model Might say HD but it is just a chinese built peace of junk like the Harbour freight ones...I've found out that the difference for HEAVY duty is that the Inverters are either high frequency or low frequency...most manufacturers have gone the cheap High frequency route but it will not do if you are looking at high inductive loads I can run my swamp cooler with a borrowed old 1000 watt inverter that weights about 12 pounds but cannot with a new go power that weights like 7-9 pounds...explanation below................................................................INVERSION METHODS EXPLAINEDHigh Frequency Inverters (HF)The large majority of inverters available in the retail market are high frequency. They are typically less expensive, have smaller footprints, and have a lower tolerance for industrial loads. HF inverters have over twice the number of components and use multiple, smaller transformers. Their application is appropriate for a wide variety of uses like tool battery chargers, small appliances, A/V and computers, but have a decreased capacity for long term exposure to high surge loads like pumps, motors, and some high-torque tools.Low Frequency Inverters (LF)Our UL-listed, low frequency inverters and inverter/chargers are the pinnacle of electrical durability. The massive iron core transformer is aptly capable of absorbing surge loads because of the “Flywheel Effect” inherent in the physical amount of a transformer’s iron. LF inverters have larger and more robust Field Effect Transistors (FET’s) that can operate cooler, in part due to the slower frequency of switching required to produce AC power. These inverters are feature rich to include the optional ability to hardwire additional external GFCI outlets, input of multiple DC voltages, provide regulated dual output voltages (120/240VAC), and integrate chemistry appropriate battery chargers and transfer relays for shore power.HIGH FREQUENCYProsSmaller footprintLess expensiveConsDoesn’t operate well with high-surge loads like pumps and high-torque toolsLOW FREQUENCYProsRuns well with high-surge loadsOperates coolerConsHeavierMore expensive

Great all around power source
Very sturdy and solid inverter unit. I attached cigarette lighter plug. Charge for car 12 volt plug in rear of Subaru. Will not charge fridge due to not being a pure sine wave inverter. It charges my Jackery 240, phones, cameras, etc.

Great product
No issues so far! Put this in my camper and now rely less on my noisy generator. This thing will brew coffee!

perfect
had it now on the solar system for 6 months. works great. Strong.

Despite manual, was unable to power 1/2hp motor
1st off this unit is very well built. Everything feels solid and well attached. However, despite the claims on the GoPower website that it could run a 1/2hp motor, the inverter would go into overload when I tried to start my 1/2hp jet-pump. I was able to run the motor once it was started via mains (by tripping my transfer switch while the motor was running), but the 1750HD did not have enough oomph to get it going.I was impressed enough with the build quality though to replace this unit with the GoPower GP-3000HD.
