Q: are these alcohol based inks or some other kind of paint?

No they are NOT alcohol based. It is paint. Do not buy if you are looking for alcohol ink. I did and am very disappointed.

Q: Will the paint work on dark fabrics?

Yes, it will work. Keep the paint a bit more intense on a dark color. Ironing will set it, and it is washable afterwards.

Q: Has anyone used this paint on canvas?

Yes I have its very thin paint tho

Q: Once used on fabrics, are the fabrics still washable??

Yes as long as you heat seal the color to the fabric with a dry iron.
