That's all there is in this sauce -- tomato! And believe me, that's enough. This Pomi sauce is made in Italy of fresh tomatoes at their prime, simmered over a long time until they're reduced to sauce. Sure, you can add other things to it -- but you don't need to. If you really like fresh tomatoes but don't want the work of reducing them to sauce yourself, you're in luck. And the packaging is sheer genius. It's stable on the shelf until you open it. Then, just by turning the cap (rather like a pint package of milk, cream or orange juice, only a slightly different cap mechanism), the seal inside the cap fractures. At this point, you do need to refrigerate any leftovers, but it's simplicity itself. Microwave a little to pour over freshly cooked pasta, add a little salt and pepper and parmesan, and you've got a gourmet-quality meal. My husband and a friend of ours even heat this all by itself and drink it like soup -- a half a package at a time for my friend, who says she adds basil, and an entire package, unadulterated, as a complete meal for my addicted husband. Fresh, natural, healthy, delicious -- it checks all the boxes. And it even counts as emergency food, because you can leave it in your pantry for a while until the need arises. Unless you're at my house, when you need to order a case monthly! A little pricey, but oh! so worth it.

Having spent a good solid two weeks in Italy, I got used to eating fresh, vine ripened tomatoes. This what makes a sauce so good is its picked when ripe product. Back home in the states a fresh picked when ripe tomato is hard to find unless you grow it your self or go to a farmers market (seasonal). Pomi tomato sauce is the best I have found, made I Italy, fresh ripe tomatoes and No additives make this my go to tomatoes sauce. Also, because the container is resealable, it's great for using a small amount for some recipes and then using rest a few days later on big batch recipe. Shelf life is great. I always buy a case so its always on hand.

The best pure tomato sauce we have ever used in cooking, It makes every dish far better than it was before with the standard canned American tomato sauce, most of which have too much added salt. The only negative review about the quality of the sauce complained of added sugar, but there is none. There is nothing added. I suspect it was the absence of added salt that made the sauce taste "sweet." The point is to salt to taste, to add whatever seasoning one prefers. This is truly a cook's sauce. The other matter raised in the negative review concerned the color of Pomi products. When they are within the "use by" date, they are bright red. I mislaid a couple of Pomi products in the back of a cabinet and retrieved them when they were two years past the "use by" date. They had turned dark brownish red and I tossed them. That's what happens when no preservatives are added to a product. So use by the "use by" date, which should be more than a year after you receive the product in the mail.

This sauce is wonderful and surpassed in quality any of the canned tomato sauces. Due to dietary restrictions, I'm not able to eat marinara sauces that are already seasoned with a multitude of ingredients. I fix this sauce with some oregano, basil, and a tad of sugar, and it tastes delicious. The color of the sauce is also a much deeper red than canned sauce. I don't know how they grow tomatoes in Italy to make such a wonderful sauce but I surely wish they would grow them here in the USA the same way. No preservative or metallic taste, the packaging is perfect, allowing me to use as much, or as little as I need, and with no added salt, I can control my own seasoning, which I love. I'm making a conscious effort to eat clean, and this is perfect. No additives, chemicals, bpa...nothing but tomatoes. On top of all that? This is the best sauce, outside of homemade, that I've ever had. The price isn't as good as the nasty, metal tasting tomatoes I ate before, but seriously, well worth the cost.

This is the ideal tomato sauce! It has the best, shortest list of ingredients that is hard to find: 100% tomatoes. Pomi strains its tomatoes to get rid of skins and seeds (the inflammatory parts of the vegetable). The sauce is yummy to taste. It's pretty amazing, considering that it has no other (flavor-enhancing) ingredients added. I highly recommend this product to other customers. There are cheaper sauces out there, but they have horrible additives/ingredients. I would rather pay a little more for something that is healthy for my family.
