Works with my Lumix GH5mk2. Wish it was wireless, but at least now i dont need to tough the lens to zoom.

Needed something exactly what this says it does. Got these, and it did it. So... 5 out of 5. What else can be said?

I highly recommend remote zoom controllers and this one is a good deal at under $30. It is SO much better than messing with the crummy zoom toggle on top of the camera! I tested this one on a Canon VIXIA S-20 and a VIXIA G20. It works very well with each. I have little doubt that it will work on all the G series VIXIAs but before buying this for an S series VIXIA, be sure you have the "remote" plug on the camera (only the later S models have it). The M and R series do NOT have the remote plug but there is supposedly a hot shoe adapter that adds this. I suspect that if you can find this adapter, those models will then work.Why 4 stars and not 5? First off, there were no instructions included at all! Come on guys, how hard is it to know your product and at least include a little help? I burned up a bunch of time not finding how to set it up for a Canon and finally just held my breath and went with the Sony setting. It worked. So for Canon and Sony, use the jack on the side right beside the slide switch and move the switch toward the plug. For Panasonic, move it away. I have no idea what the plug on the front does.Also, the build quality is only fair. There is only one screw to secure and tighten the clasp to your tripod handle and it does not feel very strong. I wish there were two screws (one per side) but you'll just have to snug it up and be careful. The Record button makes a loud click when used. More annoying than you might think! But even with these deficiencies, I think if you treat it well and always pack it carefully, this little unit should last.

You can't beat the price for a variable speed zoom control for any Sony LANC capable video camera. You can actually control the zoom speed well with variable thumb pressure. All plastic but it seems durable enough and cheap enough to toss and buy a new one if it breaks.

Starts and stops the camera. Works fine for me, I can zoom in and out fast or slow depending on how much pressure you apply.

As others have noted, the item comes with no documentation. I could not make any combination of jacks and switch positions work with my G21.It has been especially frustrating because I initially ordered the Fotga version of this item, which appears to be identical. While returning the Fogta, Amazon support told me that I ordered the wrong version and that this was the right one. I'm pretty sure they are the same since neither work works with the G21.

This remote is a good and inexpensive option. It seems to last about two years before failing. We are on our third one. We use for about three hours a week every week and every couple of years it fails.
