Unless I am mistaken, there may be a problem with product degradation. I have had a problem with an ink cartridge printing after a long period of not being used. Would suggest that a printer be cycled once a month to keep the printer head clean/open

Q: What is the install by dates on the black ink cartridge ?

That date is the expiration date. If you have the cartridge installed and there is ink in it, the machine will ask for a replacement sometime after the expiration date (I think it's 6 months, but I may be wrong). Don't buy any cartridge that has an expiration date in the past and don't buy one that is soon to expire unless you do a lot of printing. I don't like this expiration date thing at all!
