Ticonderoga SenseMatic Pencil, 0.7 mm Lead, Silver/Black Barrel, Pack of 2 - 1464311

These are excellent pencils. I have used them for years. They are hard to find in stores but Amazon always has them. The auto feed function is flawless up to a point. They come with three refill leads but will work for many more standard 0.7 mm leads which are available from Staples and other stores. Eventually, the auto feed function stops working and you just need to move on to another pencil. I use a relatively heavy pressure but I suspect that if you have a lighter touch the auto feed function may last indefinitely. Also, the eraser caps can be replaced by Paper Mate Arrowhead caps that are rediculously cheap if you buy a box of 144. I don't even use the eraser caps that come with the pencil. Just cut them off and replace with arrowheads which are much better erasers. Be careful when installing the Arrowheads as the air pressure can cause the side to split. To prevent that, I always drill a small hole through the original eraser before replacing it with the Arrowhead.

I love these pencils! They auto feed so you don’t have to worry about stopping to feed out more lead and they dispense the exact amount of lead needed so breakage is not an issue

I can never find these locally, which leaves me puzzled.These don't need to be "clicked" or "twisted" in anyway. The tip just moves forward by itself.I love these pencils.

Great product. Works really well. Could be a bit more affordable. But then market share vs cost....and quality. market share can only improve with buying the product. But if quality decreased with lower prices, I would buy a wooden pencil.Nonetheless, I recommend this product. I use it every day at work. I'm a carpenter. This is currently my primary pencil at work and at home, for a couple months now.

Update: Because most of the components were made of plastic, it stopped working after a full semester of writing in college. I expected it to last longer than that.Although I need to put in the lead one at a time, it just feels so convenient to not need to dispense any lead through clicking and they do have a storage compartment in pencil for the extra lead. The eraser, like any great Ticonderoga pencil, is a very good quality. The SenseMatic a very interesting product of engineering.Whenever the small bit of the lead has run out, there is a clicking mechanism that is on nib that allows it to be dispensed once pressure is put onto it. They somehow integrated the clicking mechanism on the nib of the pencil, which is ingenious.

I have bought these pencils for years. Greatest thing ever. No clicking or twisting to advance the lead. Just write and forget it!

I bought 4 of these and now can't use even one. There all worked fine for the first lead or 2. But once I refilled them they simply won't load the new lead and can't ve used. No way to contact the seller through Amazon so just had to give up on them. Nice idea, but just doesn't work

I love these pencils and I use to use them in Middle and High School but then I couldn't find them any more until I came across them on Amazon. The only two things I would have to say about these are that they are bit too expensive for only 2 pencils. Also the lead could be a little bit softer. But other than I want to thank you for bringing these back.
