I know it seems odd to call a pencil the best, but these are. My husband is a 20 year+ teacher and our son is a freshman in high school. When your family writes this much it's important to have good writing tools. These pencils are soft to write with, the erasers don't get hard or dried out too fast. These are a family favorite!

As a teacher, I have become a pencil snob. These are hands-down the best pencils I have encountered. They sharpen easily but do not break easily, two plusses for someone who runs a classroom of 32 second graders! I love that they are both reliable and affordable as I buy my own supplies for my students.

Dixon Ticonderoga is the known quality brand for wooden pencils. We used them in a passout card for Blessing Backpacks and tools. 1of 96 was missing the lead, so gave a 4/5 star rating.

This is the perfect set for parents who want quality pencils. These are the pencils that my daughter's charter school requests us buy and they are great. I use them at home as well. It was cheaper to buy this bundle instead of buying them individually.In case you are wondering, the erasers work great. My six year old needs to use them frequently and some of her cheaper pencils make a smudged mess on the paper.

Based on the other reviews, I guess we got a bad batch. Every single one of these pencils has had shattered graphite. Completely useless for our kids. They will often got through 2-3 a day because lead keeps falling out or just crumbling when trying to sharpen them.
