99% of OXO products are top notch as is this. Great for flipping anything in a pan or casserole dish. Well designed.

GREAT PRODUCT! WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

First off, I love OXO products. Whenever we need to replace something, we check to see if OXO has it before looking at other products. We probably have a couple dozen OXO products from food containers to towel dispensers to kitchen utensils, and we love them all... except these tongs.The problem is that the locking mechanism doesn't work very well. It's a pretty minor issue, but it's significant compared to the rest of their line - when you open and close the tongs, sometimes the lock mechanism will slide into place and they will lock unexpectedly. It's easy to reproduce by holding the tongs vertical with the flippers pointing up and then opening and closing them - after one or two clicks, the lock slides down. Now, you won't typically be holding the tongs vertically, but it happens under normal use as well.It does not seem to be a faulty item either. I was able to bend the lock so it stays in place for the most part, but because of the quality of every other OXO products we've purchased, I bought a second set assuming that the first was faulty, but the second set had the same issue. We have other products like the silicon salad tongs that have the same locking mechanism but do not exhibit this issue, so it seems to be a problem with just this item.I still gave this 4 stars because it's better than other products out there, even with the defect. But if I was rating it against other OXO products, it's certainly the most disappointing.

Purchased silicone tipped tongs for use with Ninja maxXL air fryer which has a ceramic interior basket and crisper plate to protect those surfaces. Long enough to easily reach into the fryer basket and flip foods without danger of burning fingers. Grips food well. Very easy to clean. Internal top lock keeps tongs closed for storage. Quality product with potential for many uses. One tong is slotted for use if drainage is preferred.

I bought this product because it was made by OXO. This is not typical of OXO quality. The spatula ends of the tongs are flimsy making it difficult to pick anything up. Also after the first wash in the dish washer, the spatula potion discolored. I would not recommend this product.

There were two major negatives written about the tongs in reviews. One was that they were too flexible to pick up heavier objects. Mine had no problem picking up one pound of jam in its jar (1+ pounds total). If you need to pick up more than that, I don't know; I didn't test for more weight, but it seemed good enough. The other problem was that the interior edges of the tongs could cut the user. I agree with that, it was a problem for me, too. I used a sharpening steel to rub down the edges, and it did a good job of getting rid of the sharpness. You could probably get as good or better results with a nail file or a dremmel tool. All in all, I like it, and use it a lot. A smaller one might be nice, too.

A really great product.I had several others, from other well-known companies:The ergonomic structure was not successful, sometimes the grip was not good, sometimes the angle was not, sometimes the silicone was too thick and did not catch the food easily, and most annoying was that the silicone was not resistant to kitchen cooking temperatures, and melted !!!This time I succeeded - well done to those who designed the product !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!One side hard-good to catch the food, the upper side is flexible-good to hold the food.The silicone is thin enough to be pushed under the food you want to grab.I chose it because it is high temperature resistant.I'm just sorry for the following:No other colors - only black- why ????????There are no different lengths - why ?????????
