Very Good for a Prayer Book
Some of our prayers are standing and some are sitting by a table. This is the best book stand for both positions as you can see from the pictures. However, I had to glue on a rubber strip on the base so that a leaning book would not slip down. It elevates the book 14 inches so that it can be easily read from a standing position.

Very light, extremely portable, but book base needs better design.
This is an expensive and fully metal, light, and extremely portable book stand.Pros:- excellent height adjustment- excellent design for the base- really great weight for the whole product- collapses into a very tiny foot print, and can easily fit inside your backpackCons:- the book is held by a plastic bases that’s attached to the firm metal body by a long metal strip. I feel this is a big design flaw as this piece would beak after wear and tear- the page holder pins are extremely flimsy and not long enough for thick books (page count > 500)If the metal base could be bent into a book base and the page holders can be also integrated into the base. This would be the best book holder in the market.Alas! Not to be so for this release. I had to return the book stand as its purpose as a book stand failed in my opinion.I hope “they” fix these issues and release this product again. I would surely buy it without fail.

Awesome and very versatile!
This stand looks and works pretty awesome! The look and finish really exude quality, it is tough as heck overall, and it will hold an older, heavier laptop no sweat! You can hold something at an angle with two different styles of stopper thingies, colored white, and the bigger one in the middle (shown in one of my photos) has little clips that fold out to hold a thin book in place. Not much wobble to this stand, it is very stable. No sharp edges anywhere, everything is uniformly rounded off for a quality and consistent finish and feel.My only gripe is that the venting for the underside of laptops is far too skimpy, but plenty of other stands do that as well or, worse yet, simply don't add venting at all.For a multi-purpose desk stand that can stand very tall with anything (or not, it's up to you), this one is excellent and I highly recommend it!This stand is definitely a keeper from the handful I've tried out so far.I should have tried to stand the thing taller still than I photo'd just to show it off, but it can go overkill on that, at the tallest height shown, it is very much placing the laptop's keybed at about 5 feet high. This stand is practically like those standing desk converters that can allow you to work in either sitting or standing position at your desk - alternatively, you can watch stuff or chit chat with people online while sitting or standing, or alternating between both.

Great
Best book stand I’ve purchased. It’s stiff when trying to move it but can handle large textbooks no problem.

Great stand for books and tablets
This stand works well for both tablets and books. We primarily use it in the kitchen when preparing meals so that there’s entertainment and adequate support of cookbooks online or offline. Wishing that there was something that could help keep thicker books open.

very sturdy holder for more than books
PROS:- The box this thing came in was labeled as a 'laptop stand', and when I set it up I realized why. The hinged arms require a lot of force to adjust, but that means that once you find the position you like, it is going to hold that position even if you put something heavy on it like a laptop or a large book.- it has little flip out feet that are designed to support a laptop, as well as a flip out book support that also has small page holder arms hidden in it. The little page holder arms were hard to access and were a bit small but they worked just fine once you got them out. Probably not so good for really thick books.- the aluminum alloy construction was very sturdy and it felt very solid when holding a book.- it had rubberized grips on the base and on the book holder surface that worked well to keep everything in place.CONS:- I thought the flip out book support was a bit cheap looking with hollow plastic construction (see closeup picture). It didnt really affect the function (other than the hard to access page holder arms) but it was still a negative for me.

Frame appears great, other parts cheap plastic
I was impressed by the stand until I saw the plastic shelf that holds the books. It is held in place by a "c" channel plastic clop over a metal axle. The shelf locks at 90 degrees by pressing against the metal frame after it swings out. As an engineer, I have doubts that this part will last for a significant time.Assuming I am wrong, there are then two metal spring clips that can be swiveled out to hold the pages down. Ifbyou can get them out of their slot. I found it difficult to swing them out. A small tab on the side of the clip would have solved this issue, allowing something to grab onto. The height of the stand is determined by friction hinges which of necessity are very stiff. The height goes from a tilt at table level up to about a ten inch elevation. There are two tabs that swing down at the end of the shelf, with a small or large tab selectable for tge appropriate book size.I guess time and use will tell if this stand will continue to eork effectively, but the plastic parts and the tab extraction difficulty diminish the appeal, so only three stars.
