Moss for Aquariums | Live Aquatic Moss (Flame Moss, 1)

The pictures of this moss are very misleading. I was expecting a nice piece of moss based on the pictures and received a very small and underwhelming piece worth maybe $4.00. I used to run an auction for aquarium stuff and know the value. Buy from an aquarium store if at all possible, this seller is way off on value.

This moss grows great in my aquarium. I placed it in my aquarium where I keep my mini shrimp and they thrive on it. I keep it lit for 10-12 hours a day to help the moss growth. It keeps the water clear and the shrimp feed off of it.

Packaging is good but the moss arrived brown and partially dead looking. Been a week and still waiting to see if it greens up and start growing. The moss is just a clump that was ripped off another plant. It fell apart pretty bad when putting it into a tank. Time will tell how it does. But not impressed so far.

Good moss

When I ordered these plants, it was 75°F. When they arrived, it was 33°F. Obviously, I was worried they wouldn't survive the journey. I was happy to discover that the plants were in great shape and alive and well. No heated packet or anything, arrived as you see them in the first pic, inside a small box. Great quality. I have just planted them in my aquarium and will update pics in the next few weeks. Good service, and great quality . 10/10

I used the gorilla super glue as directed and glued the moss on to rocks and driftwood.It has turned brown and ugly. I even used thread and wrapped some on. That's no better.

I really like this company/seller. In the past, I've ordered anubias species as well as Java ferns, and they've all arrived in a box, not an envelope like some sellers, and for the most part, in great condition. This time, I ordered Java Moss and ferns. The ferns arrived beautiful as expected. Sadly, over half of the moss. was brown. I live in Hawaii and it's a long journey for anyone to send us anything, so I'm not complaining. Also, the moss was shipped in the coolest little snap-cover containers, so you can tell that this seller takes great care in their products.But yeah, since I'm at a disadvantage with brown moss, it'll be a while before I get to the point of a big green clump. Slow grower. Easy to grow but slow.(Why would the review ask me about "Scent?" I marked five stars, but is that weird? Like, fresh moss or rotten moss... I'm not gonna stick my nose into the bag! And I didn't buy Java Moss as air freshener! Am I missing something? I'm sure I'll feel stupid later when I figure out "scent!")
