Use for induction cooktop

I love buying things like this through Amazon, just in case it isn't what it says it is. But, this IS THE REAL DEAL, My wife is still talking about her Christmas Present in February!

Let me preface this review by stating that I have owned a variety of All-Clad D5, D3, and Copper Core cookware for about 6 years now. I also worked in a professional kitchen environment where they primarily used All-Clad. I've used other high quality cookware from Made-In, Misen, and Calphalon so I like to think my experience is well rounded.This All-Clad set arrived in a huge and heavy box. Inside the box each piece was individually boxed and everything arrived in pristine condition.The set is well curated with a nice variety of pieces - all of which are useful for everyday cooking. Additionally, the mix of stainless and non-stick is great to start out a cookware set for a new home.Every piece in this set is beautifully made, nicely finished, and feels robust and sturdy. All of the cookware has flat and stable bottoms. All of the lids fit snuggly. The handles are securely attached. If you've only used modest cookware, be prepared to be impressed with how amazing these All-Clad pieces look and feel.I've used all the pans on my gas cooktop that has heavy cast-iron grates, except the dutch oven, which I used in my wall oven only.The 3 stainless steel pieces heat up quickly and evenly. They work equally well at high heat for searing meats, or low heat for a gentle simmer. They balance nicely in the hand, but unlike more expensive All-Clads, the 3qt stock pot in this set does not have a helper handle, just the long handle. Nor does it have a rolled edge for easily pouring liquids. All of these pieces are safe for use in the oven. The stock pot and its inserts are made in China, while the other pieces are made in the USA. The stock pot also does not have an encapsulated bottom. The stock pot and inserts can be washed in the dishwasher. All-Clad recommends hand washing the D3 pieces. I've found that they clean up nicely with some Bar Keepers Friend.The 2 non-stick pans heat up quickly and evenly. The sides on the saute pan are tall and curve inward slightly. That makes it an ideal pan to make sauteed vegetables in, as they don't easily slip over the sides of the pan. I avoid using a heat higher than medium with non-stick and these pans perform equally well at medium heat or low heat. Foods do not stick and slide around in the pan easily with only a touch of cooking oil added. The dutch oven is very deep with curved edges at the bottom, making it easy to move food around inside. The domed lid traps moisture nicely. All of the non-stick pieces are oven safe, but to lower temperatures than the stainless pieces. They can be washed in the dishwasher, but I recommend hand washing them to prolong the life of the finish.All in all... a lovely set of high quality cookware.

Best pans ever

The All-Clad Multi Material 12 piece set includes a pan of various materials which allows me to choose the right pan for any dish I might want to prepare in my kitchen. The fact that the entire set is compatible with all of my cook tops means I can cook wherever is most convenient. From slow cooking in the oval covered cocette on my induction burner, to stir-fries in the 12-inch stainless steel fry pan, I've got the right pan.The 10-inch non-stick fry pan is perfect for sausages or bacon and eggs. The 4 quart saute pan with lid is the pan to use for a chicken fry or cacciatore, and the D3 stainless steel 3 quart saucepan will help me prepare perfect sauces and gravies. The 8 quart stainless steel multi-pot enables me to boil pasta or steam artichokes or seafood, while the matching steamer basket can steam potatoes for light and fluffy mashed potatoes. The 8 quart pan is also the ideal stock-pot for simmering a chicken noodle soup or stock.And last but not least, the covered non-stick oval cocette (AKA Dutch Oven) is made from heavy material while it's still light and easy to lift and clean. It's the ideal choice for a pot roast or chicken stew, and the tightly fitted cover allows it to roast vegetables to perfection.These pans are heavy enough that heat is conducted evenly across the cooking surface so there are no hot-spots or burned edges. The aluminum non-stick pans are oven-safe to 400°F, while the stainless steel D3 pans can handle oven and broiler temperatures to 600°F. The metal handles have rivets to withstand the heat.I've only had a few weeks to use this 12-Piece All-Clad set of Multi-Material pans, but I've been cooking up a storm and I'm in love with the versatility and ease the set has brought to my kitchen.The All-Clad Multi Material Cookware Set is a great option for anyone who wants a high-quality, complete cookware set that will provide years of service in the kitchen.
