It’s mild because it doesn’t have salt y’all
For anyone who is saying the flavor is mild it’s because it doesn’t have any salt. If you want the flavor to bounce, you either need to mix a little salt with the oil before you put it on ingredients or put it on well seasoned food.

I didn’t think an oil could change my life, but here we are.
Let me tell you about the oil that just made my rushed weeknight dinners do a complete 180.Listen, some nights I'm channeling my inner Gordon Ramsay, and other nights I'm tossing whatever protein and veggies I can find onto a sheet pan and calling it a day. This shiitake mushroom oil works its magic for both moods. One drizzle adds this incredible depth of flavor - we're talking rich umami that takes hours to develop under normal circumstances.Added bonus? It's not seed oil-based like many other drizzles, so I have zero guilt when I douse my entire plate.Whether you're drizzling it on date-night risotto or rescuing some quick-roasted broccoli, this stuff makes everything taste delicious. I really don't know how else to say it. Buy it.

The flavor is nice and clean. Earthy, somewhat umami. I just need to work past the ick factor.
Not going to lie, I'm a bit skeeved out about this being sourced from algae, probably because I associate that word with the terrible conditions my childhood goldfish suffered before I learned to be responsible with cleaning his bowl. That said, this oil's flavor is very nice, clean and earthy, somewhat umami.I don't know how durable it is as a frying oil, so I've only used it as a finishing oil so far. But so far so good in moderation. As long as I don't think back to goldie slowly suffocating in her filthy water while 5-year-old me couldn't be bothered to notice, it's very tasty on noodles and in stirfry!

Only the very faintest of earthiness flavor.
This algae / mushroom oil is very mild. I can't say I taste any of its ingredients. It is a nice oil but me and my wife agree that it had only the very faintest of earthiness flavor. It is a more healthy alternative to most other oils. We tried it on just rice and it was pretty much undetectable. Combined it in chicken stir fry for about the same results. Perhaps our pallets are not refined enough to taste the complexity of this oil, however at its price-point we will not be ordering it again.

Mild but good
I don't often use flavored oils, so I was surprised at how mild this oil was. I wasn't sure I tasted the mushrooms at first. I'm very used to all kinds of mushroom essence and broths because it's very common in my culture to use mushrooms like shiitake for umami - I wasn't sure I could notice a strong essence probably because it's not saltedI've only used garlic infused or chili infused oils and so I guess my expectations were different. If I add some salt to it, I can taste the shiitake umami and I can tell it must take time to infuse it to create something like this. It's convenient to have around, especially to squirt it into a veggie fry dish to add some umami oil to it. Just know that it's very mild and unsalted!
