Disney Princess Merida Bow and Arrow Set

My daughter had been asking for a bow and arrow and this seemed a logical choice, given her love of the movie Brave. She is five years old, and this bow is proportionate to her size and easy for her to handle (she is 42 inches tall). To actually use the bow, we had to tighten the string so that the arrows would launch from the bow. This worked, and after some practice, she could shoot the arrows quite well. The suction cup ends were great, as it meant that if she shot at a flat surface, the arrows would stick. I think anyone purchasing this item should be aware that it is made of plastic and is not a bow and arrow set meant for actual archery - it is made of plastic and is meant for dress up/creative play. I give this four stars based upon the fact that it comes with 3 arrows, two of which have already broken with normal use. Prior to buying the item, I had read reviews that this was the case, but I wanted to try it for myself. As it turns out, those reviews were accurate. I wish they were more durable, or that the set came with more arrows. So far, I've found no place that sells just the arrows. Therefore, due to the price and quality of the craftsmanship, I would only give this item 4 stars and not five.

After reading some of the reviews, I was hesitant to purchase this bow and arrow set. But, I am happy to report that the bow and arrow is a huge hit with my four year old daughter! Her cousin got a real bow and arrow, so naturally, my daughter wanted one too. Since she is only four, this is the right one for her.The bow works perfectly once she learned how to hold the bow and arrow. The arrows stick to the windows and some wood furniture. She has also learned to lick her finger and wet the end of the arrow to help it stick.Hours of fun and very happy with the purchase! If you do decide to purchase for a little one, invest in the time to teach them how to use it, otherwise you will regret the purchase and the little one will be quite frustrated.

my five year old twins love this! arrows are great for a toy and stick well to the doors and windows lol! my only complaint is the case that they made for carrying the arrows. it is a weird fit and the case is too short for the arrows to not dump out of and we can't really figure out how it is suppose to go on their body. they could have made a better case. but my kids don't seem to care and they are having fun shooting the arrows!

This was a gift for my niece for Christmas. It came packaged fairly well, and looks nice. Merida is her favorite, so I know she is going to love the picture of her on there.The arrows aren't very sturdy. My concern is that they may break fairy easily, but we shall see! We haven't been able to play with it yet, as she hasn't opened it, but I will come back and add some action shots to see how well it performs.

My daughter just turned 7. This was a last minute Christmas gift for her because she saw a different bow and arrow set in the store. She was very happy with it, and is still talking about it, (it is now Feb). She doesn't play with it that often, but when she does, she enjoys it. For the price and her level of happiness, I give it 4 stars. She may have used it more if she were 5, but I figured that from other reviews.

This is a very safe toy, that my little girl enjoys playing with. For a 3 year old, she has a hard time with it, but she enjoys caring it around and playing.The string is setup a little loose for safety reasons. I shortened the string about a inch, and it made the toy much more functional. It is now able to shot an arrow 10-15 feet without much effort. Its still a toy, but sure makes it much more functional.

Another one of those toys my daughter likes that I'm just not impressed with. This bow IS technically functional - but it doesn't work very well. The string is too slack, and the suction-cup arrows do not stick well. Plus, there are only three of them. The quiver is pretty nice, I guess.She's played with it a couple of times, but mostly as a Merida dress-up toy - when she wants to shoot something, she pulls out the nerf guns.If you're looking for a toy for a girl who would like to actually USE a bow and arrows, I'd suggest getting her a Nerf Rebelle Agent Bow instead.

My daughter wanted a bow and arrow so badly. We looked in the store and the ones we found were for 8 and up (she is only 6). We found this one on Amazon and purchased it for Christmas. She was thrilled! She played with it all day and took it everywhere we went. She continues to play with it and has actually gotten pretty good with it. Sometimes we play darts, or I should say, I use the darts and she uses her bow and arrow, it has been a great toy so far.

The bow and arrow is decent quality, but the quiver (?) doesn't stay on my daughter's back so it's a bit pointless. it's also quite difficult to get the arrows to fire any distance, however she loves brave so she's happy to run around with it.

This bow and arrow set is a bit over priced for what it is. The arrows hardly stick to the window so that's a bit discouraging for little hands who try so hard to make it work.

The fun factor is throughout the family, the arrows reallz stick to glass such as windows or pictures. The bow is very good and child friendly, the arrows should be a bit more designed for heavy duty in childrens hands. Therefore nevertheless 4 stars !

It looks great. We'll made my kids love it. When I got it out of the packet it feels a bit flimsy. But It keeps the children happy. One of the arrows broke the day after we purchased the item.

Out of all the christmas presents (including a bike!) this was my daughters favourite present.I thought she would have problems mastering the bow and arrow but she proved me wrong. She is amazing!She has had hours of fun with this. We have lost a few arrows and is a shame you can't buy them separatley.Would definitely recommend for Merida fans.
