Basic information, clearly written, easy reference.

This is really helpful book and if you really like finches this is the book for you. It gives you all the info that you need to know and many more. The best present for someone that is a finch lover or even to yourself. I had a great fun reading it.

I was looking for a good booklet to give away when I gave someone a pair of finches...Loved the cover and the index looked good....then I got it. It looks like this book was compiled by a person doing internet searches and cut and pasted into a "print it yourself" kinda format. The info is ok for someone who never owned a small bird before but beyond that not only is the book not helpful, the editing is poor and parts of it are wrong (I'm a finch breeder). Save your money and go elsewhere.

Not as much in depth info as I was hoping to find but sufficient for a beginner. I thought it was lacking in species covered.

I was disappointed in the book. I was hoping for colored pictures to identify the different finch breeds. No I would not recommend this book .

This is probably the worst book on birds I have ever read. It is full of misinformation and bad advice, and in many parts lacking in detail. If you are new to finches and need to know how to care for them, there are much better choices of books. In fact, this book would probably cause you to be unsucessful, so my copy will be going into the trash instead of the Goodwill donations.

When I first saw the book it looked that I have read it previously. And yes, I was right!! Dana Oliver's "The ultimate beginner's guide to finch care", which I bought some months ago, is EXACTLY the same book!!!! Quite odd?
