Roller-Coaster ride of a star......
This is the third book of Yasser Usman after "Rajesh Khanna: The Untold Story of India's First Superstar" and "Rekha: The Untold Story'. This book starts from Sanjay getting arrested because of his connection with Mumbai's 1993 bomb blast connection. Then from Chapter 2, the author starts talking about his childhood. The author tells how Sanjay started doing drugs before releasing his first film "Rocky".When Sanjay was 10 he used to smoke used cigarette butt thrown by his father, Sunil Dutt, in the garden. when Sunil found this, he sent Sanjay to Lawrence boarding school at Sanawar by the recommendation of by the then prime minister Indira Gandhi who was a close family friend of Dutt family. I found it very interesting that Sanjay's name was suggested by a person who took participation in Shama's(then famous popular film and culture Urdu magazine) name suggesting contest. The name suggested was Sunjay Kumar. Later it changed to Sanjay. The author tells how Sanjay got into the habit of taking drugs and how his relationship with Tina Munim, Rati Agnihotri, Madhuri Dixit, Richa Sharma, Rhea Pillai, and Manyata was? In one incident in Jail Sanjay was so used to mosquitos that he would differentiate between dengue and malaria mosquitos. The author also tells how did he meet Dawood and Anis Ibrahim? All and all its a book which tells about Sanjay from his childhood to being released from his Jail.I liked the book. got to know few technical LAW terms.

One Roller Coaster Read
I am not a Sanjay Dutt fan, nor do I hate him. I know him as the slightly aged actor, who often hams on screen, and has given a couple of decent movies in recent times. Whatever positive perceptions I have had for him, I will dislike Sanjay Dutt after reading this. Thatâs what I thought while ordering a copy of Sanjay Dutt: The Crazy Untold Story of Bollywoodâs Bad Boy.I may have judged the book by its cover (or title). I couldnât have been more wrong.Yasser Usmaan has crafted a seemingly transparent profile of an actor whose entire life, throughout his career, has been virtually dissected and let bare by various media reports. By piecing together a narrative based on interviews of film industry insiders, police staff, lawyers, archivists, etc. the book reads seamlessly with no personal tilt apparent. While reading the book, sometimes youâd fall in love with Sanjay Duttâs innocent charm, then hate him for his errant ways, then like him for trying to mend himself, get angry at his foolish behavior and also pity him for the conditions he managed to get himself in. Eventually, you understand the phenomena of Sanjay Dutt, the original âBhaiâ of Hindi Film Industry, and what has kept him going even when he doesnât figure anywhere in the top crop of stars. It is a true roller coaster ride indeed. The book is unputdownable, something which didnât need an interval â like a good masala Bollywood film packing solid content.Duttâs life really deserved this book, and definitely deserves that biopic too. This book has kicked my interest in knowing him more closely.I donât know if Iâm a fan yet, but I like him more now. Probably because I understand him better. The space is restricting me, but I shall write a much more detailed review somewhere on my blog. Meanwhile, go, buy this book!

AN EXCELLENT ACCOUNT OF SANJOY' LIFE
Writer has beautifully crafted the life history of SANJOY'S DUTTA bringing his father and mother's brief life history together . How sanjoy was novice at all his misdeeds that brought ignominy in his life and how reckless he was while deciding steps in his life journey were beautifully delineated in this book . I am very impressed with the responsibilities that SANJOY'S father performed to bring his son on track . The book is very good and eye opener also for those who want to live life recklessly.

Terrible - youtube has better videos of his interviews.
What was I thinking? This is the worst book I've ever read. The material is all from youtube interviews of Sanjay Dutt... and the writing makes those interviews only worse. I should have heeded the warnings I read on the web before buying this. All future prospective purchasers - please heed to my warning here.

Honest
I love this book for its honesty. It didn't try to picture Sanjay, one of my favourite actors as someone that he isn't. I was brought to tears especially while reading about his mother.
