Not as good as they used to be but still good
First, when you measure for this, they include the buckle in the length. The first one I bought was too small. I didn't bother to return it because you never know when you might have a smaller dog around that can use it. That didn't of course make my disgust over the discrepancy in the measurements any less. Not to mention the hideous collar my dog had to wear, in PUBLIC I will add, until the second one came in. (It truly was hideous) Pet stores around here have no decent collars in stock, ever. The quality, however, is not what it used to be. That doesn't mean that it isn't good quality. Im sure it will last for quite a while, the real test will be after a few pond swims. The last one I had was purchased decades ago by someone else and had gone through SEVERAL dogs. Working dogs and pets. I grew up with Hamilton products in the tack room. But the last collar finally broke. I don't think this one will last as long but I have hopes it will last for a long time. I detest buying collars and halters. I just want them to last. I still have Hamilton halters from the mid 70's that are going strong. Now, I do recommend the collar, it is sturdy. It is beautiful. I use a harness so this collar is strictly for tags, no idea how it would hold up with a lead but I think it would work fine.If you decide to get one, which you probably should, just be sure you check the length, then double check it.

Different than their previous...
I have two of these already and ordered this third one for our new puppy, so I’m familiar with Hamilton leather collars. The other two are exactly the same color and style, including one of them that is the exact same size. This new one however seems a bit more “cheap” in the sense that it feels lighter and like the leather isn’t genuine. I’m not against faux, I just think it should be marked as such. Especially when I have an older one next to it and can feel the difference, it’s a little disappointing. I guess my “issue” isn’t that it might be pleather, but that I’m unsure if it’ll last as long as the previous ones. I love the style though and the rolled option allows there to be no tangling with their long hair. I also have Hamilton prong collars, so I know the company is quality, but again, I just wish they would either note the product has slightly changed or just continue to make them the same. They also changed the side of the buckle, which you can see on the photo. Again, I’ve had great experience with their products, but eventually I’ll have to find another because my eldest dog wears a 24” and they’ve discontinued that size in burgundy :(Oh and also, this new one is slightly shorter than the older one. Still fits because I get the 18” on purpose to fit looser (since it’s not where their leash attaches) but for someone who’s buying the right size, it might be a tad tighter than their previous collar or compared to another brand.

No change in 15 years
Exactly like the one my other dog is wearing...which is 22 years old and on its 3rd dog now. Hamilton is worth the extra cost because it will outlast the dog(s).One thing you want to watch out for though is that you will need to put some leather conditioner on it right away. It's been sitting in that plastic bag way too long and the leather is fairly dried out. A good Lexol #2 condition or even better - Skidmores Leather Cream will be just fine. If nothing else, a good BOOT cream in the proper color or Delicate Cream will suffice. Just don't use Kiwi Boot WAX.

rolled leather collar
l love equipment made by Hamilton for my horses and this collar is exactly the caliber of quality that comes from Hamilton......the rolled leather doesn't mat up my aussie's neck fur....l will buy more

Great collar, too much dye.
This was perfect, except red dye stains my white dog if i wash him with collar on.

Beautiful collar, but not sturdy enough for my 80# GSD
It is a beautiful collar. We have a long haired 80# GSD. The wider collars tend to wear down the fur around his neck, so the ‘rolled’ collar works well. However, after wearing it for approximately 1 month, the collar tore horizontally thru one of the holes for the buckle. If metal grommet eyelets could be used, it may strength the strap with the holes.

Rigid good looking collar
The cooler looks beautiful but is very stiff and a bit short for my Labrador. I ordered the larger size but I feel that should have been longer. It end right where the ring where you hook the leash on is. Overall I got what I paid for. Looks good in my dog’s neck.

Great collar
I already had a Hamilton collar so I knew the size because I measured the current color I had. Because of this I didn’t have a problem with sizing. It seems like the same great quality as my previous Hamilton color which I still have but because I recently adopted another dog I needed a new one.

Great little terrier collar
Love this collars colour. The quality is excellent I will admit the leather was very stiff at first, after a couple of weeks wearing it’s softer and looks fab!!

Do not Purchase
This collar looks like it has been made by a child. Too small, stitching is disgusting, holes are too far apart, terrible leather, too short for sizing. Sorry nothing good to say. Also cost me £12.75 customs charge on top of the cost of the collar and £5.00 to send back. To be honest I'm not sure if this is not a scam. Ive returned it and hoping to get a refund. But That wont include all the charges.
