outstanding
I'm not sure why Macbooks have no usb ports, but they don't. So a product like this is totally necessary for Mac owners in order to have things like external keyboards, speakers, and an external hard drive. A really nice thing about this one is that it has an external power port, so it can be (but does not need to be) powered by an external cord. This saves a lot of battery drain on the laptop. I had a J5 dock before which was always super hot (temperature), it got its power from the laptop, and occasionally it would overheat and my hard drive would disconnect. In any case this has 3 USB A ports as well as ethernet, and a monitor hdmi port, which makes it a perfect fit for anybody with a Mac and much better than the J5 dock that I had.

Docking station
Love the size, however, the cord that connects to the laptop needs to be much longer. If I put my laptop on a stand the cord is to short, so I have to put the docking station on a box.

Great with one annoying feature
Needed a dock when I unexpectedly needed to work at my mother’s home for an extended period of time. The dock worked great but the rubber strips on the top of the dock doesn’t work well. The laptop keeps sliding off the dock. otherwise it works great.

Didn't work at all....no pass through charging, no power cord included.
Usually a fan of Belkin products and when I read that this was compatible with the new M1 MacBook Air, I ordered it. Product looked good, but when I plugged it into a USB-C power cord (not included by the way...seriously...no way to plug this in without buying another USB-C power cord and brick???), nothing happened. My laptop remained on battery....no pass-through charging. I will be requesting a return/refund. Perhaps I just have a defective one, but it's not worth troubleshooting. This is really supposed to be plug and play, not plug and pray.

It's the only way to go
I recently purchased 8 of these units to support two offices and 8 desks. Works amazingly well.

Beware - Charger Required But It's Not Included
When I ordered I saw a didn't grasp a limitation -- this puppy requires extras. It needs an external power source of 65 watts. If not, functionality is limited.Disclaimer on Belkin's website:USB-C port on the Belkin INC004 is for power input only and cannot be used for data syncing or charging a device when not using an external power supply. [never mind double negative syntax which BTW is inherently confusing]Another gottcha -- Take a close look, it has ONLY one USB type C female port. Oh, it's for power supply ONLY. That limitation wasn't obvious to me when I purchased it. USB C for input is.... Out.OK, so I go further down the rabbit hole. Amazon search was "helpful" in a way. It helped me realize what I didn't know.Started with "charger". Got sidetracked searching for portable chargers capable of delivering 65w. Belkin had only one power bank on it's website, discovered the best it could handle was 18w. I haven't found anything that could handle 65w of power. As you may realize, USB connections has become progressively complex. Make sure you get the newer USB C 3.1. The 3.0 standard doesn't put out sufficient power to support multiple displays.Already it's been 4 hours of research.....Finally, I nailed it. First, get a USB C Wall Charger. AND a USB C 3.1 cord (male to male plugs). And yes, both must handle 65w.Yes, it's gonna cost ya: Wall charger $35 and up. USB C 3.1 power cord, varies, $25 -39.Bottomline: $60+ extraFinally Belkin has a newer model coming soon. It has 14 ports, with two USB C types, but one of those is dedicated to supply power. Cost $249 and it's BYO power supply and cord.
