Beck/Arnley Ignition Switch - 201-1790

Perfect fit and function in a 2000 B5 Passat. My original simply became a little erratic due to the contacts being pitted after many, many miles. This part seems to be equal in quality and heft to the original replaced part. If it doesn’t last 18 years I’ll try to remember to come back here and let you know.

Fitted to a 2001 Golf, took 1/2 and hour after reviewing the process on Youtube. Fixed my crank/no start problem 100%

Overall the part worked great and fixed my problem with the original switch. But the downfall is one day it just stopped turning my car off and the radio stayed on and then my A/C fan didn't work along with my signals not working. So it will work for a time but its not a durable switch.

Works good

My old switches spring on my 99 Passat had deteriorated resulting in brake lights being on, a/c not working etc. This was a simple fix, just remove the cover on the bottom and top of steering wheel, pull steering wheel out as far as it goes, swap out the switch and you are off to the races! took me about 10 minutes or less - I could feel the tension in the spring immediately - and key returns to run position just fine!
