The Real Highspeed
5 and 10gbps are NOT highspeed, not even close. The Thunderbolt 4 does 40gbps, and a Win. 11 bootable USB drive I have coming reads at 150gbps; pretty much the only cord or [?] that can carry more than the 40gbps are the RJ45 Cat.5/6/+ lines/cords - at least that's what I've figured out so far. To run the boot drive I'm installing a 9-pin USB port onto my motherboard so I can keep it inside and out of the way; what I'm unsure of just yet is if there'll be enough clearance inside to plug vertically, or if I'll need to secure it horizontally along a wall, if so then this will give me that room. If I don't need it here, it is still a great extra to have around, especially if one has a T4 in operation.

Absolutely love this - perfect way to expand access to the hard to reach port
This is great for those unique items that cover multiple ports (like my favorite microphone system). I am using this in conjunction with my phone cage -which is great for videos and photography- but makes accessing the USB-C port a challenge. For me this is a game changer in terms of access!

Not recommended.
Not recommended. I was going to use this so I could easily swap my USB4/Thunderbolt4 CalDigit dock between my laptops and desktop, but I hear very audible popping/clicking noises in my headphones while using this extender.Setup: PC > This adapter > Thunderbolt4 cable > CalDigit Dock > USB out to DAC > DAC to headphone ampWhen I connect my TB4 cable direct to the PC, no issues, but adding this short extender results in popping/clicking in my headphones.Decided to cut the insulation off, and as I guessed, no EMI shielding to speak of. Just one of those flat flexible ribbon cables.

Great price for the cable
The quality of this connector is great. Perfect length for my Galaxy s24 Ultra to add a MagSafe SSD reader to the back.

Very handy and flexible cable
Since the cable is flat, it's a lot more flexible (in one direction) than a traditional round cable would be. That, combined with the short length, make it perfect for connecting a phone to a power bank, or an external SSD to a computer (or to a phone, or the phone to a computer.... you get the idea.)Both ends of the cable clearly have the 40G/8K and 240W rating printed on, something I always appreciate. The picture shows a light purply silver on the ends, but the one that arrived is instead dark blue. I honestly like this color better, so I won't complain.I had no issues charging or transferring data with this cable. All of the required signals are passed through, and the cable is properly e-marked for for 240W (50V 5A) operation. Resistance for ground and VBUS came out to ~100 milliohms, an excellent result. This cable is not USB-IF certified, nor does the manufacturer claim it to be.Overall, this is a very useful little cable. It's not at all bulky and quite flexible, despite being specced as high as it is. I don't have anything to complain about.
