Works well for Infalatable rafts - tubes and big whitewater rafts.
Let me start off by saying, I don't use this for inflating an air mattress. I use this bad boy to inflate my 12 foot whitewater raft and river tubes. This thing does a great job at getting the raft up and in shape in to where I can top off the pressure with a high volume hand pump. It's probably a minute or two for each chamber, which I'll take. It's small. It's light enough to bring with me on the water. And the batteries last a lot longer than I expected, probably 10-15 raft inflates. Just whenever you are done, or you go to store it, flip one of the batteries around so that it doesn't turn on when something in the bag/box flips the switch. And if it does, and you didn't flip the battery, make sure there is no fishing line in the bag near the pump. I'm about to replace mine because a hopper-dropper rig got sucked into the impellor and jammed it up. But that is totally user error, and for the price, it's a no brainer.

takes the shortness of breath out of blowing up a mattress
I got this for blowing up the guest queen air mattress when I have guests (once every couple or years). The last time, it took me hours to do it with the bellows style thing that you pump with your foot, and it tired me out. So, when the mattress died, I bought one that had this. Saved the day many a time.My neighbor cheaped out and bought an air mattress without the pump, and when she needed to blow it up for guests, she called me 4 days before her guests were due to arrive and told me to order one for her. Got it in 2 days (thanks, Amazon Prime), and it saved her as well.I highly recommend having one of these if you have anything inflatable like kayaks, tubes, mattresses, etc. Powered by D batteries, so great for camping, where you may not have power nearby. This supplier packed it nice, and shipped it fast.

Coleman 4-D quick pump
We bought this pump to go along with our double high queen size air mattress, for camping. It works well and inflates this large mattress relatively quickly (5-10 mins). The two drawbacks, hence the 4 star not 5 rating, are 1) doesn't attach to the mattress while inflating. I used a small spring loaded clamp to attach the nozzle to the mattress while inflating. 2) older batteries will not inflate to a high enough firmness. I used old batteries to inflate most of the way, and then switched out brand new batteries to complete the task to a nicely firm mattress. I switched out to the older batteries to deflate and will repeat this procedure to extend the battery life. When the old batteries wear out the new ones will become the old and I will bring another set of new batteries.Batteries do get warm after running the pump for 8-10 mins, not a problem as far as I can see.I wish Coleman would make a combo mattress and pump. But this combo purchased separately works well and is cheaper than any other combos I have seen. I would recommend this pump for mattresses and other inflatables.

Simple and effective
I needed a pump to blow up our Coleman queen size air mattress (just single height) for a tent camping trip. Based on price mostly, I chose this pump. I put in some batteries (that may or may not have been full strength) & inserted the pump into our Comfortsmart Quickbed. No air seemed to be going into the bed. Then I realized when I put the pump into the valve I had accidently pushed in the valve and activated the internal valve close system. As soon as I pulled the valve back out (and therefore opened the internal valve) the air filled our mattress in like a minute. Pump wasn't annoyingly loud or anything. I had considered one of the more expensive higher output pumps or a cigarette lighter powered pump, but wanted something that could stay inside the tent in case our mattress needed a boost throughout the night/trip. I am super happy I went with this inexpensive battery operated pump! I like that its a Coleman too, since I've always had good luck with their customer service (if I should ever have problems in the future).

PUMPS QUICKLY!!
This little thing is a powerhouse! I have purchased two other pumps that take FOREVER to pump things up and they are way bigger to carry around. This pump was recommended by a friend and I can see why! We took it camping this weekend and it pumped up a queen mattress VERY quickly! My only complaint is that it doesn’t have an attachment that allows me to pump up swimming pool floats.

This pump worked great and pretty quickly too
This pump worked great and pretty quickly too. We use it to fill our inflatable air mattresses. A few of the other reviews complain about the pump not being able to fully fill an air mattress. Something we have always done is finished off the inflation with an hand pump. These small pumps cannot withstand the air pressure of the mattress once it begins to push the air back when it is nearly inflated. Knowing this we always use the hand pump to get the desired firmness. This pump is great and has been used several times on the one set up batteries. Its a lot better to fill the mattress to nearly full and then having the hand pump the entire thing. It fit all our Coleman air mattresses perfectly.

It works but falls short
I purchased this product for our first Boy Scout outing where we would not have electricity for our 110v or 12v pumps and it arrived as advertised. It was cheaper than Walmart and prime which is my addiction so it made it a good buy for me. I also had purchased the Coleman 4D CPX 6 Portable Energy Pack at the same time and out of the box it was very clear that the pump was an inferior product in comparison in build quality. The pump feels cheap and looking at it the components it has to be a very profitable item for them. It was hard to grasp they were both Coleman products sitting side by side. Now down to performance, once we got our tent up I started setting up and I found the biggest problem with this product. It worked great but then seemed to overheat and stopped working before it could finish our queen sized mattress. It started to work again after I let it cool but it seems a poor design that the moved air is not used to cool the motor which is open in the case with the batteries. If time is not a concern for you this product will get the job done but if you want to quickly get more than a twin size air mattress filled up you might want to look at other options.
