Actually Work Appropriate
I thought this would be more purple and since I'm not teaching in a classroom right now (due to the world pandemic), I figured I could play with my hair like most people are doing. I wanted to pick something that wouldn't dye my scalp and I've had great success with this brand before. It actually went on very well. There was enough in the bottle for my hair which goes about four inches past my shoulder. It wiped off easily when I got it on my forehead and didn't leave a stain. It left my brown hair with deep purple hues so it would still be work appropriate. It's a purple-ish red. It smells wonderful, it thickened my hair, it made it feel so conditioned. I'm sure the longevity will be like any hair color (I haven't rated it on that just yet) because it all depends on how you take care of it (how many times you wash it, etc.). Overall, I am very happy with the results.

Oh yes this is lovely!!
My dark hair was getting too much grey, er, silver so I used this. Most of my hair is a deep chocolate, the silver hair shows lavender. It's so pretty even the firemen who picked me up to go back into my hospital bed commented on it.The conditioner can be left in - just wouldn't over do it. But it's so soft & smells nice I wanted to share. When I feel my Hippie showing I put some purple highlights here N there...may as well have fun!Happy New Year! Thx Santa, I mean Amazon! You must have a time machine cuz you're fast! xox Val

Cheap and Effective
In this global pandemic, I needed a change. I also like bold colors that "hide" as natural, due to work restrictions. My hair was natural soft black on top, but the last 3-5in had turned a horrid orange. I wasnt too hopeful with this color without lightening, but having used Olia before I knew it didnt damage my hair much so the gamble had low risk. My top now has a nice "glaze" to it, and the bottom has a subtle red-purple to it that shows more in sunlight. My hair still feels soft and neither the process nor the finished product had that horrible chemical smell. As someone who does minimal prep before dyeing, I can also report it didnt stain my skin badly and barely needed a wiping to clean what stain there was. I also was surprised, since I ordered only 1 box that this was enough to color my whole head - I have thick curly hair that is waist-length when straight. I usually prefer salon jobs, but this seems to be suffice considering the quarantine.

Nice color on box, not recommended on black hair
I liked the idea of a non ammonia based hair color that’s what tempted me to buy it. I bought 2 boxes to be safe I have long hair halfway to my waist.Mixing it wasn’t too difficult. I was worried about that it wouldn’t fully get combined but it did. Applied and waited 30 minutes. Rinsing was typical of most at home hair colors. The color didn’t really “show up” until a few days later. Very subtle on my naturally black hair. I’ve used ammonia based formulas in the past and gotten good to decent results. With this product I wouldn’t bother if you really want a burgundy sheen or tint to show in your hair. Stick to ammonia based formulas or hit the salon.

Subtle purple and covered greys really well
I just did it so will update on longevity but I am really happy with the color and it covered my grey streak really well! It's not super vibrant but enough that the purple is seen, especially in the sun. Will be buying again!Update: same rating because it did last longer than expected. The purple washed out a little quicker but a nice brown remained and where I previously had highlights faded into a pretty rose gold color. I did buy again.

MEDIUM ROYAL AMETHYST IS NOT THE COLOR AT ALL- BEWARE!!!
I had been looking online for a purple hair dye. I've boxed dyed my hair for years and never had any issues, and I've dyed it everywhere from blonde to black. I finally decided on this Royal Amethyst color. I had about 5 inches of regrowth/fresh virgin hair, and then about 12 inches of hair that had been dyed, mostly blonde/brown, my natural hair color is DARK BROWN, so essentially I had a balayage. I used this and first off, the product is extremely runny, which I wasn't used to. Secondly, I left it in for 30 minutes, washed it out and OMG I was horrified... my dark brown natural hair was not this deep amethyst... it was light orange/brown, the rest of my hair was an ashy gray/purple. This is the worst hair dye ever and I'm warning you all about it!!!!! I was so disgusted by it that I ran to the store that night and bought a different color.... I used Feria Deep Violet and it was amazing. DO NOT USE THIS.

Medium Royal Amethyst: Pretty but subtle
I started with just past shoulder length, medium brown with blond highlights. I left the dye in for 30 minutes exactly as indicated. It was really easy to apply. It didn’t have a strong odor, although the conditioner smelled nice. I like the results. Inside the house in low light, it really just looks dark brown. However, when the sun hits it you can really see the purple. I just dyed it today so I cannot comment on longevity. Picture shows hair before and after dyeing.

Really nice color
The color did not last long even when I used shampoo and conditioner for colored hair so that the color could stay. I wash my hair every five days, but the faded color was still a color that looked gorgeous! So I wasn't disappointed. I will be buying again and if this color interests you, you should too.
