Ok value for M.2 SSD
I see lots of negative reviews here about the performance and DOA out of the box 256GB and 512GB models that this review section is linked to. I think most of them are due to people assuming that this is an NVMe drive because of its M.2 form factor. It's NOT NVMe. It's SATA based SSD, just like a 2.5" SSD but in a M.2 form.It will not perform even a 1/4 of of the speed of NVMe drives. It does not use PCIe lanes, but instead uses SATA standards over the M.2 interface. Many motherboards do not have the ability to run SATA M.2 in their M.2 slots and most require the user to disable NVMe and enable SATA in the BIOS for the M.2 slot for the drive to function. I think that would solve most of the problems reported here.I wouldn't recommend this drive for a traditional desktop machine as a main/boot drive. I bought it for use with a raspberry pi 4 and it simply won't stress this little drive out the way a Windows/Linux desktop will. The price is a bit high, but finding 512GB SSD or larger, in M.2 form factor is difficult and there is little demand. Almost everybody wants NVMe for speed reasons. Since the pi 4 doesn't have and PCIe lanes, you have to use SSD over USB 3 to get greater speeds than the on board microSD.For those reasons, this little drive is of good value and for older motherboards and tablets made about a decade ago that have M.2 but not NVMe, it can be of use. With that in mind, I can say this is worth it for the right conditions. Just remember that this is NOT an NVMe drive, and it will NOT perform as such and you will need to enable SATA over M.2 in most desktops in the BIOS, otherwise the system will fail to detect it.

Cheap Chinese Junk
Arrived sealed. It never worked at all, dead on arrival. This hard drive was defective right out of the package. I tried it on several computers and it didn't work on any of them. I never got to use it. I will never buy this brand again. Cheap item, poor quality! Amazon, it's not a good sign! I am out of the return window. I would not recommend purchasing these drives. Tested on 2 different motherboards, both unable to read/find this M.2. Took it out and put it into my Windows machine, and same thing. Windows and Linux give errors when trying to initialize and format the partition. I've tried everything, from attaching it via the motherboard or through an external enclosure. I’ve used known working SSDs in their place to make sure my motherboard isn’t faulty, and yet they still refuse to show up. The m.2 SSD still can't be detected. I have NEVER had a drive fail like this from any manufacturer. Buying this for my system was not worth the few dollars saved. This unit was ordered and kept in the package until it was needed. It was not needed until it was past the return date, of course. Long story short, it fails to be read by any device that it is plugged into. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BRAND!!! The hard drive doesn't even show up. Too late to return it.
