The 12-year-old Aultmore is part of Dewar's The Last Great Malts series, the distillery is located between the cities of Keith and Fochabers on Speyside, in an area known as 'The Foggie Moss' because of the perennial fog that surrounds it. Founded in 1896 by Alexander Edward, Aultmore, whose name derives from the Altt Mor, the distillery's water source whichin Scottish Gaelic it means 'great river', it releases a unique product in its kind, with a unique refinement, a Single Malt for true enthusiasts, produced in very few copies and very much sought after by collectors. Pale golden yellow, to the nose isgentle and fresh with notes of mown grass, malt, icing sugar andhoney, along with hints of yeast. It has a soft taste on the palate,slightly peppery, and rich in hints of lemon, vanilla and herbsaromatic. The finish is medium long and played on citrus notes.
