Purchased this for a trip to Costa Rica and Panama during particularly hot and muggy months. I am 5’6” about 145 with an athletic build. I was concerned the medium would be too tight so ordered a large. If ordering again, I would opt for the medium, as the large is pretty oversized. As for the insect repellant quality, I did not receive 1 bug bite during a 9 day trip, but I also wore bugspray everyday. The weight of the jacket was perfect; a breathable mesh - just what I wanted. I’ve continued to wear this at home in my Central California coastal climate for a bit of extra layer on chilly morning runs.

I loved the product itself. It's very flattering and will help with the bugs and humid weather in the Brazilian Amazon for a trip I have planned in the future. I'm 5' and 115 pounds and the x-small was perfect. The reason for the 4 stars is Amazon. I believe the item was washed because it has a strong detergent smell to it (I'm allergic to perfumes), looks a little ratty (not as smooth as my other ExOfficio items), and came rolled up in a ball in a tiny package (item cannot be ironed). I'll be returning this flawed item. Next time, I won't order quality items from Amazon, I'll order directly from the manufacturer with better quality and faster shipping times.

When I first ordered this jacket, I was struggling with the price. Well, it is worth that and more. It is lightweight, which is appropriate for mosquito-loving weather, covers my bottom (a wonderful place for mosquitos to bite me when I squat to pull weeds), and with the hood up, it covers even my neck and head. Combined with the Damselfly pants I can now garden in peace.This jacket smushes up into a tiny ball so when the COVID-19 crisis is over and we start traveling again, it will be easy to stash in my purse. It is a soft knit with mesh holes.I did launder this jacket twice, low heat in the dryer for only 15 minutes, then hung it to dry, and it still repels mosquitoes well.I ordered Small and I am 5'4" and 130 lbs and am happy with the fit. I could probably fit an XS but the medium would be too large.

I bought this jacket for Costa Rica in March. It was humid and sweltering everywhere! This jacket is so light weight I could wear it in the heat without worrying about bugs and insects. I felt cool and protected in the rainforest, mornings and evenings when they come out.

Lumens hoodies are the best. Soft and stretchy, lightweight enough for the summer, no bug bites, and looks great. I already had the pullover one and it’s been holding up great for years so I was super excited when they made a zippered one. I’ll probably get more colors.

Seems to work for dog walks in the neighborhood! Material is somewhat of a light mesh, so is not too hot. Hoping it will work after washed

Lightweight, easy to pack and no bites in French Polynesia. I did you spray as well as Dengue epidemic was active while I was there.

Great for travel I barely had any mosquito bites the whole trip!

Keeps the bugs away! I always get bitten a lot when I go outside; this vest is light and comfortable and I haven’t been bitten once.
