Dockers Men's Latimer Sandal,Dark Brown,13 M US bought from Amazon
This is a pretty good product. They are comfortable to walk in for hours and hours, and they have a very comfortable sole and superb straps. They are better than any other sandals I have worn including the most prominent brands.I like them.Re: Dockers Men's Latimer Sandal,Dark Brown,. After a couple of months of use, I like these sandals better than any others I have ever worn. They are better than the much ballyhooed sandals of famous makers (which I also own and now wear rarely). They fit well. I wear them all day, and I've bought a second pair.My view: They are the best. Also the Amazon price was very attractive, and less than 1/2 the retail price in shoe stores.

Nice sandal, good quality.
Many years ago I took to wearing sandals when appropriate during the summer time. I like sandals because they're cool on my feet, easy to slip on and off, easy to clean and lightweight. I have a "farmers tan" from the open parts of the sandals on my feet all summer, looks kinda funny when I'm not wearing them. I've worn a lot of sandals over the years. The best pair I ever had were made by Nevados, those sandals lasted me at least 5 summers and I've never had a pair before or since that lasted that long. Every time I go shopping for new sandals I look for that brand. They're available on Amazon but not in a type and style that I want so after some fairly broad and serious sandal shopping I settled on this pair.I'm not disappointed. The sandals are very comfortable once I got them broken in. Or maybe I should say once they got me broken in because I did develop a blister where the front strap comes down my right foot on the inside of the instep. That's no big deal, it's just that strap traverses skin that's never had a strap rubbing on it before and it never really bothered me enough to notice. The insoles where my foot contacts the sandal are very comfortable. They "breath" well and I don't seem to be experiencing any sweating or chafing on the soles of my feet. The straps are broad and likewise comfortable with the above exception. They're lined with some sort of soft fabric (taffeta? I don't know much about fabrics) and they hold my foot perfectly.I was a little leery because I didn't notice the heel strap isn't adjustable until after I ordered them. As it turns out the strap sits where it should on my foot and it's not an issue. The upper part of the sandals are made of real leather which is a huge plus. Leather is the most durable material I've found for this kind of footwear. I chose the Briar sandal and unlike sandals I've had before the leather isn't suede, it's a pebbled smooth finish. I chose this over the Dark Brown sandal because of this finish, the Dark Brown appears to be a matte oil tan but I can't be sure from the pictures. I like the finish on the Briar sandal because it should resist stains from coffee, beer, sodas and anything else I manage to spill on my feet during the course of a summer. The sandals appear to be very well constructed, there's heavy duty stitching every where there should be and the Velcro fasteners are of a good quality that doesn't seem to attract lint and only sticks to itself. I've never really had a problem with straps letting go, stitching breaking or anything like that, I always buy a good pair of sandals because I wear them so much. Usually a sandal "wears out" by having the sole crack at the ball of my foot where the sandal flexes the most while walking. It's way to early to tell if these will do that or how long they'll last. They're comfortable and sturdy enough that if they last as long as that old pair of Nevados did I may have found another brand of sandal to look for when it's time for new ones again. Two brands to choose from would be nice and it's more likely I'll find one or the other that I like and are made in the type and style I prefer. So why didn't I give them 5 stars? They did make a blister on my foot, the heel strap isn't adjustable so I lucked out but others may not be so fortunate, and they're brand new so I can't speak to their durability. That's the only reasons I can think of and if they last they'll get 5 stars from me.

Comfortable for a few days, doesn't fall off.
Last year I took a trip to St. Maarten and tried to get by with a pair of $20 sandals - the kind that are barely a step up from flip flops, with no heel strap. Man, what a pain! They were constantly falling off, and only got worse as I wore them and they stretched out.So I picked these up this year for another trip to the island, and it was a night and day difference. I was able to walk around with these on all the time. For about the first 4 or 5 days, I basically forgot I was wearing them. That strap at the heel makes all the difference. And these are particularly comfortable at first, with a padded sole and soft synthetic leather that doesn't need breaking in.They did start to chafe a bit over the last couple days of my trip, and I noticed some redness and welts even in spots where I hadn't actually felt anything (mostly right where the straps loop in on the side). That might have happened with any sandal over that number of days, but I think a closed-toe sandal with a heel strap might have worked better.I didn't like worrying about these getting wet. It seems strange to me that a sandal should be made such that it can't get wet, but these really can't - the padded sole gets soggy and nasty (it happened by mistake a couple times) and takes forever to dry out even in direct sun and dry weather.I normally wear a size 12 - 12 1/2 and I ordered a 12, but they are a slight bit big. Nothing that's noticeable in feel, but they *look* big - the toe and heel extend past my foot by about 3/4 of an inch on either end. I'm not sure I'd have risked going down a size, but just be aware that they at least look like they run a little big.

Inexpensive, cheap materials, awful smell, good fit
These are made in China. They have a terrible odor out of the box and after a week they still stink but the odor is diminishing. It seems many products made in China have terrible odors associated with them (I've read many complaints on Amazon of numerous malodorous Chinese products). Really makes me wonder what the Chinese are putting into these products.I waited a few days before wearing these due to the odor. The fit is actually pretty good and they are comfortable to wear. The foot bed is a micro-suede type material and the straps say they are leather but look and feel fake to me. The toe and ankle straps use Velcro-type closures and appear to be of an inferior grade of material. They probably won't last through repeated usage. But these are inexpensive so you can't except high quality materials for nothing.I bought these because many reviewers mentioned that they have high arches which appealed to my flat feet as I can always use extra support. I don't find these arches to be very high at all. They do have a slight arch to them but nowhere near as high as I hoped they would be.Overall, the sandals fit well and are fairly comfortable to wear which is, after all, the true litmus test of a shoe. However, due to the terrible odor I am reducing the grade to three stars. I don't expect these to last very long given the poor quality of the materials, but again, the quality is offset by the cheap price. I'll update this review if any new developments arise.
