Great for small jobs and just put it away in your toolbox!
Great product for what it is used for. Very easy to use and does a great job on branches, not logs Lol!

LIghtweight, sharp and convenient end clip
I'm pleased with my initial use of these pruning shears. They are lightweight and very sharp. I keep buying different models of pruning shears, and all have had a screw that holds a toggle to close the shears or a screw that slides back and forth to close the shears. Invariably, the screw comes loose, and it's a complete hassle to use them. For the first time, I can close these shears with the end clip instead of a screw. The spring doesn't seem super sturdy, but time will tell. Given the simple spring mechanism, I think I could replace it fairly easily if it doesn't last. But for now, they are a joy to use!

Wonderful Pruner For The Money
I've had to maintain 2.75 acres of landscaping that our home sits on for the past 23 years. We live in hot and humid Southwest Florida where the plants grow quickly enough that you can almost watch them get larger. To shape them properly and avoid having them develop that "leggy" appearance, frequent pruning is just as important as proper watering, soil drainage, and fertilizer. It's hard to say how many pruning shears I've gone through since we've lived here. It's common to tackle a job too large for a hand pruner. That rewards you with a lost spring, a twisted handle or a broken blade. So far this TABOR tool has survived any attempt that I have made to damage it. The steel blade remains sharp, the blades lock together tightly when not in use, and the spring just keeps doing its job. This is a great pruner for only $14.95. Comfortable to grip, easy to use, no muss or fuss. I really appreciate the red color since I have been known to drop various tools and not be able to recover them since they are green or brown and blend into wherever I've been using them. Even one night outside results in a light layer of rust on a recovered tool. I've taken to painting the handles on all my dull colored equipment a bright orange so that it's easier to find them when they're dropped.NOTE: I was surprised when the spring on this pruner decided to shoot out somewhere out in our yard. Since i couldn't find it, I contacted Tabor and explained the problem. Within two weeks they provided me with two additional springs. Great customer service!

Best one ever
I bought this in 2018. It is 2024 and it works like day one. Even if left outdoors. This build quality is what I expect from most products. Still sharp and comfortable to use. So much so, I am buying more because I just threw out two others from other companies that didn’t last over a year.

Good Value Pruners - Annoying Latch on Handle
These are pretty good hand pruners. I have had mine for a few years now and the bolt connecting the shears is easy enough to take off in order to sharpen the blade. They've seen their fair share of work over the years and are well worth the price they charge. However, the one small knock I have is the annoying latch on the handle. More often than not the latch will be in the down position when I am cutting and affects the cleanness of the cut and makes a clicking sound. I will then put the latch in the up position, but will ultimately find its way back down. If it weren't for this, I would give these hand pruners 5 stars for sure. Well worth the money for a weekend gardener.

Best Pruning Shears - Ever!
These Tabor Shears are without question the best we have ever bought or used. Ours are 6 years old and still performing like new. We are ordering a backup pair, based upon outstanding performance. As avid landscapers, no other brand has served as so well. Thank you!

Easy fix to the return spring
I have a tabor saw, and it works great, so that was a deciding factor for this pruner. The hard chrome is always a very desirable feature for yard tools, as it keeps the rust at bay, and for a pruner, it keeps the cutter from getting gummed up as quickly.Pros: hard chrome finishCons: needs a minor fix to the return spring to prevent it from popping out, as others have reported. The black heat shrink appears thin, so I'll probably just cut if off.FIX: If you remove the spring, you'll notice that the ends do not wrap very closely around the mating part of the handle. The post where it sits measured about 1/4" (6mm), but the opening on the end of the spring is more like 5/16" (8mm). The easy fix is to use some pliers to close the end off, a little smaller than a 1/4", and then when you re-install the spring, you'll force it over the post, which will keep it from popping out. Even if one side were to pop off (which it should not), the other end should be tight enough to retain it.

Great Pruners! VERY SHARP!
Very sharp! Be careful! Wow! This pruner is razor sharp. All I've used before were Fisker pruners - which are OK. But I feel like I'm in the big leagues with this Tabor Pruner. I didn't know what I was missing. Time will tell if it holds up. I actually got this as a gift for my wife. Her Fisker pruner kept getting smaller branches sandwiched between the blades. If I tightened the blades, it was too difficult to squeeze the handles. So I thought I would try another brand. To test the sharpness, I cut into a paper towel to see if it would cut or go between the blades. It cut a slit with ease. A perfect, clean cut - better than my sharp scissors. Then I tried it on some rose branches. Sliced nice clean cuts with no effort. The build is high quality. It feels very sturdy in your hand. My wife has small hands and some arthritis and didn't have a problem using this pruner. I like the handle lock in the back - opposed to on the side. It is less likely to be locked or unlocked accidentally. So far, I am very happy with this pruner. If, over time it falters, I will edit this review or write a new one. But for now, couldn't be happier with this purchase!
