Nice foam tiles
All my tiles expanded to the correct shape with enough time. All tiles color matched and are working great as padding for my golf sim enclosure. I mounted them over foam insulation board using aerosol contact cement and they're all staying in place so far.

New York Noise Abatement
These tiles are a good solution to my street music and traffic noise problem. I had to use 9 sets (1.5 packages) per window, but was able to form a barrier up against the glass. Fortunately, I don't need natural light particularly in this office/room. It is correct that tape does not adhere at all, so I used packing box tape to go all the way around in the middle, slightly snug, so that the tape adhered onto itself (like putting a bow on a package). I could then tape multiple squares together, tape to tape, one square to another, to form a 4x4 grid. Then I taped it to the window frame (again tape to tape). It is important not to leave any gaps, and to ensure the squares are flat against the glass. The Levolor blinds dropped down also improve the hold against the windows and hide them cosmetically from view.I'm not sure why anyone has to put these under water to expand. Mine expanded immediately out of the shrink-wrap, with the exception of just a couple that took a couple of hours.Very happy with the purchase.

If that is 2" than I could be a porn star!
I guess accoustic foam is measured by the same people who tell you a 2"x4" piece of lumber is 2"x4". There appears to be a great deal of rounding up. I guess I should have searched for 3" thick accoustic foam.

Easy to work with, reasonable sound defining
My job requires supporting team members stationed around the world and I routinely have to attend VTCs late at night or early in the morning. These panels were purchased to reduce noise outside of the office and avoid waking up my wife and children.I haven't made any specific measurements, but it's clear they do reduce sound. I'd estimate ~15 db lower. It's not significant but it's something. I use a headset so these are used to reduce the noise that I generate.Several reviews mentioned the scent. They do have an odor; it's what you'd expect foam to smell like. After 48 hrs I couldn't smell it any longer. I'm not sure if it dissipated or I just got use to it, either way it doesn't bother me.Another common issue I read was them not expanding. They're shipped in vacuum sealed bags. After opening them they were all compressed. I left them for ~72 hours and ~1/2 of them fully expanded on their own. The remaining ones were partially expanded. I ended up putting them in the dryer for 20 mins and they fully expanded after that. Some people mentioned soaking them in water first. I tried that on a couple but I didn't find it necessary. The dryer by itself worked fine.I read about several different ways to hang them. I used 1.5" T-pins, these are available at Walmart, Target, etc. and worked very well.

The best Acoustical Panels on Amazon
I love the shape of these pads, it’s way better than having egg carton shaped ones on your way that look cheap. I would like to say that no double sided tape will stick to these, none. So you have to put a strong glue between the tape and the pad to make sure they lock together. I put 6 up at night and by the next morning they were all on the floor. I used a strong glue and now they are locked in. These pads come shrunk down to a size of a piece of paper but I assure you they all go back to their original form, just give them time. I rated value for them high because for $6 each it’s a lot for a piece of foam. If they were cheaper I would buy a lot more. The sound quality absorption is pretty good, but unless you cover the entire wall with these you will get slight echo return on exposed drywall. For now, these are the best you can find on Amazon.

24 pack is NOT the same as the 6 pack!!!
I'm using these for wall padding for a golf simulator. I first ordered the 6 pack to test, and they were perfect. I ordered the 24 pack next to buy in bulk. I assumed the 24 units were just 4 x 6 packs, as pictured in the listing. The 24 pack units were less dense, slightly thinner, an off black color, and have a general feeling of being cheap. The 6 packs were dense, had a deep black tone, and felt like good quality. Very disappointed in the 24 pack quality.

Lookin’ great
These are pretty stylish compared to the egg crate type. DO NOT PUT THESE ON A WALL. They will stick too well and you’ll need to spend hours removing all the little bits. I definitely recommend hanging in a frame, and there are lots to choose from. They do a great job of removing echo in recordings. These are not going to stop sound from leaving a room. Anyone who says otherwise doesn’t understand how these work.

The Truth
Basically anyone saying the foam is coming in warped is half true.If you just open it up and place it on the wall it’s going to be warped because of air compressing. Now if you follow the instructions and soak them in warm/hot water. They all grow to the correct size.Overall they work and they look great. Is it a lot of manual labor and set up?Yes.You’ll need adhesive spray to put these panels onto a surface that will work with dry wall adhesion.Best method is placing panels on cardboard and then using command strips to place on the wall.Worst part about these is the dry time after soaking them. They take forever to dry because of the trapped moisture. But if you have the time and patience to set these up properly you’ll love them.
