⭐️Exactly what I needed
Wow, thank you Uncaged Ergonomics! Post shoulder surgery, I’ve been needing something to hold my tablet, books, and puzzles at a comfortable angle, and this is amazing. It’s so much more comfortable not trying to hold on with my hands, which get tired, or prop up a book with my legs- which still cause neck tiredness from looking down. I found this easy to adjust even with an arm in a sling, and it’s just so nice to be able to get what I’m reading up to eye level and to be comfortable. I didn’t expect there to be a soft rubber sleeve included, which slides on to the lower bar where my book rests, up its so nice to also rest my wrist there as I turn pages. It’s a thoughtful feature. The whole thing is well thought out- nice and wide to go over my lap and hold any size book on its surface. I imagine it would make a nice tray for a dinner plate as well. I can’t wait to recommend it to friends and don’t know when I’ve been so happy with a purchase. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Editing to add that adjusting the side legs is not hard! You press in a button and move the legs where you want them, but you do not have to do both sides at the same time! Turn it on one end and adjust the side that’s up, then turn it on the other end and repeat. It’s also GREAT how it goes into any angle, just release the button at any point.

Very versatile.
I use this book holder daily.Works well while sitting in a chair, table, or bed.Multiple angles and positions to fit almost any book or tablet for reading or surfing the web.Very lite in weight.

Requires some creativity to balance in bed
This is very adjustable although I will say getting both sides adjusted to the same point requires picking it up and shifting, which is a little difficult, especially in bed. I am healing from spine surgery in my neck and the level of bending and shifting in getting it adjusted isn’t ideal. I also broke 3 nails from the efforts to do it without picking it up and turning it on its sides before I gave up. Each joint is relatively easily adjusted but doing them simultaneously while using it is a lost cause. Therefore it’s a lot of trial and error to find a good position, as you can’t adjust it to where you actually want it, you just have to guess.I have found a number of great positions for it for reading at unusual angles since I need to have what I’m reading it eye-level, which is why I bought this. That said, it does have trouble staying upright at these angles, seem to be an issue of the legs being much lighter than the stand itself - and that’s before you put anything on it. It seems like this would be resolved fairly easily either by the legs in general being heavier or if the bottom leg were heavier. This means that any angle where the top is not level, the whole thing falls over in whichever direction the top is leaning. It really does seem to be a matter of the legs not being heavy enough as it will be balanced there until any slight amount of movement, such as a shift in the bed or couch happens, and then it falls down. I’ve been reading a fairly small, lightweight hardcover, so a laptop or heavier tablet is only going to make this worse. Anyone who has successfully found a good way to weight them please share. I have noted that there are holes in the bottom legs that could be used to attach something - I’m also debating something like ankle exercise weights and if I find a good option, I will try to update this review. It also has no way to secure the item to the stand if gravity won’t do that, or a way to hold a book on. But that can be remedied much more easily than the weight issue. I’ve just died it on on each side with a robe belt which also helps ensure the book stays open to the correct page. There are a number of devices sold explicitly for this so it seems like an easy fix.For the price, this is a fairly good value. It’s just going to be a project to start with before you have what you were looking for. Although the numbers mean that once you find a good position, it is easy to put it back into that one later, you’re going to have to fiddle to find it to begin with. For me, it is definitely worth it as reading a novel is something I’ve missed. Just don’t expect an out of the box one and done from this - this is more of step one in the process.

I LOVE this thing.
I use this ALL the time in ALL kinda of places.I am literally in the car (as a passenger obviously!) Using this to do school work on the car ride.I have used this on the couch. On the floor in front of my couch. On the bed. I dont use it often on tables because I do have another book stand I usually use at the desk or table but there is no reason this couldn't work there.Holds my really huge books.Has holes in the back to allow laptops to breathe. Can go really high, short, in between, sturdiness has not been a problem, dials are numbered making it easier to me sure you have both sides on the same settings instead of just eye balling it.Can have the surface vertical, horizontal, and any way in between. The ONLY thing negative i can say about this is it would be cool if it had page holders (only needed when you have the surface more vertical though when it's leaned back gravity does what gravity do. And it can be difficult to adjust the surface angel if you go the route of trying to press both buttons the same time. I can see how it could be very difficult to do for someone with disabilities because it really does require both hand to make any adjustments.Ultimately, one of my most used Amazon purchases and makes doing school work much more versatile.I actually bought another book stand first because it had page holders and was huge (I have very big school books) that was for use on tables desks etc, and came back and bought this one as well. While I do use the other one as well, I could have saved money and only bought this one and would have been fine its so versatile.

So hard to adjust
If you have a situation in which you need this often and in just one position, and have room to set it aside, it’s sturdy and you’ll probably love it. Otherwise, it’s big and awkward when not in use, such a pain to adjust that you never will, and it’ll be junk you wish you hadn’t spent so much on.

Perfect and a great value
Saw a similar one in a catalog that was much higher in price and the shipping cost was a deterrent. We received this and it is just what we were looking for. Easy to use and the multipurpose makes it even better than what I envisioned using it for.

Tedious to Adjust, Inconvenient, an Absolute Chore
Adjusting this thing is so obnoxious. I got it for easily switching from sitting to standing, but changing the position is not worth the time it takes. It can also easily unintentionally be made forward heavy, so it tips over. Wast of money. Works like a clunky non-functional knock off of a great idea.
