No sound; broken
What a disappointment for our toddler grandsons. They love the truck itself but the sound and motorization never worked. It came with batteries that didn't work. We installed new batteries, still no sound or motorization. Reset as directed in the instructions, no sound. Can't return it because the boys love playing with it. We feel ripped off. We could have purchased a much less expensive toy fire truck with no sound or motorization and they would have been just as happy. We remember the Tonka name as reliable when our kids were small but we will never buy another Tonka product again.

1-year-old boy approved firetruck
This ended up being my son's present from Santa. He's 1 year old, and loves anything with wheels. It doesn't necessarily "feel" like it's going to be that durable, but it has taken some punishment already, and has definitely passed the 1-year-old-test!He loves pushing the buttons and making the sirens blare. The ladder is pretty sturdy and moves in all different directions. The paint is perfect, although I wish there was much more metallic accents. There may be some more expensive fire trucks out there that are more realistic, but I didn't find too many.All in all, the kid's happy with it, so I'm happy with it!

Just got this for my grandsons 6th birthday. The sounds are great but ladder does not work. He still loves playing it with it. but disappointed

Cheaply made
Not the tonka truck from your childhood. While there is nothing "wrong" with this toy it is very cheaply made. All cheap flexible plastic. The pieces that do move I can't see them staying intact.
